    Default v3.5 is out!

The darn Bactrians are still getting stuck a little south of Alexandria in Arachosia, though. Oh, well. Everything else is fixed (I think). Rebalancing suggestions are welcome. Since so much of the map is new, I'm sure we have a lot to learn about how the AI will behave.

Thanks, guys! I think this version has made great strides toward awesomeness. I'm really happy with it...except, again, for those stupid Bactrians.

Good work! I'll play it a bit when I have the time (not next week, as I'm away then). I decided to run up an AI test campaign whilst doing other things, and the results are quite interesting...

I wasn't really watching it, but what I can tell you is that Rome rose quite fast, Numidia took over from Carthage after about 30 years, and after a promising start Parthia stalled and was beaten back by Armenia, which has been absorbed by Pontos. The activity of these factions seems to have wiped out the Seleucids and nerfed the Ptolies. Oh, and in another 5 years Galatia becomes a world empire, stretching from Asia Minor to the Baltic

Remember though, that this is after 60 years = 240 turns. It is much better than the previous version, which had this after 50

On a different note, apparently these merc units are there to "stop revolts" (according to their description). Do they stop revolts, or stop a CTD from being tiggered?

Edit: Oh, and there is evidence of a naval invasion. It is blue, insignificant and in the north-west

Edit2: The Pontics have made a lot (and I mean A LOT) of small stacks arond Mazaca, the Galatians around Campus Scythi (but not as many) and, and the Greeks on the ismus of Corinth.

Sorry, but that's going to be a multi-month process. I'm glad you like how it's going so far, though.

Thanks for posting this. You know, I've never seen anything like this in the test games I've run. Yay for a little randomness! Usually Big Blue chews up Armenia and Parthia and then starts whooping on the Ptolies while Bactria wanders off and gets lost. Never seen Numidia do that, either, and Rome usually has a slow start.

Yeah, that's what I meant. Oops.

Odd. I can't imagine what could be holding them up around Mazaca. As for Corinth, do you think that's geographic? I could always use a land bridge there to increase the width of the crossing.

How do I build Roman Triremes and Quinquiremes? Even a full dockyard in Roma only gives me the option of building Biremes. Do I have to wait for Marius Reforms?

Nope, only certain shipyards can build advanced ships. You need the timber resource. This is to reflect that not every harbor in the ancient world was capable of supporting a war fleet.
