    Default Pretenders to the throne

If you are a faction that is related by blood to another factions king, will you be able to claim the throne and declare war. If you win, you should then be given the title of king of that country. I will use the Hundred Years War example for clarity. Say I am playing as England and I am the brother-in-law or cousin of the current King of France. Would I then be able to claim the title of King of France and go to war with them on that pretext. If I won and conquered France, my king should then get the title King of France

Hmm...this ought to be possible, but I don't know exactly how it would work. It would involve several triggers, and I don't know what triggers would be involved. We'll get back to this.

This kind of play would be awesome! Imagine the AI struggling to claim the throne in your nation!

And this was actually pretty common historically, even after the Middle Ages you have the War of Austrian Succession, the War of Polish Succession, and last but not least, the War of Spanish Succession

I would also enjoy having to fight off an AI faction who wants to claim my throne, it would be a great way to trigger the AI to declare war on you instead of Vice Versa. Also, since you have a legitimate reason for war, this should, if possible, not hurt your reputation and the Pope should stay out of the matter.
