Go here to download Virtual mode for XP, It literally takes 10 seconds to setup and get into XP mode, All your drivers carry over to the Virtual machine and internet works right when you launch it!

Is there any compatitibilty improvements or is it just visualization? MS site mentions compatibility improvements, but I cannot make heads of tails of it. If I have an XP/Vista compatible program, that isn't compatible with Win7 at all, does this then allow me to run that program in XP virtual mode, and make changes to Win7?

Well any program that works for Vista will 99.99% work for windows 7 since they work off most of the same binaries, it's XP that has it's problems.

But yes, if a program that dosn't work in Windows 7 works in XP, just open up XP and run the program through there, you can print, email it, etc.

I agree. There have been a range of better third party virtual machines out there for quite a while now. Such as VirtualBox and VMWare Player.

I've heard of VMWare, and heard it's pretty good.
Is there any free virtual XP software out? I'm considering upgrading to windows 7, and I might like to have this option.

So that's why it's a download then. Not every one would use it so they let you download it for free if you want it.
