In RTW if a trait has more than one character type only the first character type listed will ever get the trait. Does this still hold in M2TW?

No. I have made bishops traits that assign the bishop's title as an epithet to whom ever holds the ancillary. It works for both generals and priests.
example that is working:
Code:Trait Name_Episcopus_Mercianorum Characters family, priest Hidden Level Name_Episcopus_Mercianorum Description Name_Episcopus_Mercianorum_desc EffectsDescription Name_Episcopus_Mercianorum_effects_desc Epithet Name_Episcopus_Mercianorum_epithet_desc Threshold 1 ;------------------------------------------ Trigger Name_Episcopus_Mercianorum WhenToTest CharacterTurnStart Condition Trait Episcopus_Mercianorum_Trait > 0 and Trait Titulation_Rankning = 0 Affects Name_Episcopus_Mercianorum 1 Chance 100 Affects Titulation_Rankning 1 Chance 100
