Default RTR Platinum building tree crash

I just installed RTR platinum (mod switch version). The game crashes to desktop when I right clicked on certain items in the building tree, I think the item the causes the crash was a barrack. This happens with both BI and RTW exe. In BI, the UI cards are also missing. Both BI and RTW are clean install and updated to 1.6 and 1.5 respectively. Does anyone else have this problem?

If you try to view units via the building card descriptions, I believe this is known to cause a ctd.

Always view unit descriptions via unit cards from the recruitment panel or from the army panel at the bottom.

I think Quinn had some similar bug in ExRM... I don't remember how he fixed it though

When a unit requires 2 or more buildings to train, right clicking on the unit from the building browser CTDs. For RTR, this means cavalry, which requires auxilia/barracks and a stables, and missile units, which requires auxilia/barracks and a practice field. Quinn fixed it by removing the stable/practice field requirement, and making units dependent on auxilia/barracks only.

The entries that cause CTD in my case are things like "Equips Roman Citizens" or "Velites Provincial Barrack"

Equites require barracks and stables = crash
Velites require barracks and practice field = crash
Hastati require barracks = no crash
Gallic slingers require AOR level 3 and practice field = crash
Gallic light cavalry require AOR level 2 and stables = crash
Gallic warbands require AOR level 2 = no crash
    etc.

I thought yiplong meant he was getting a CTD by clicking on the barracks building (and not by clicking on a unit inside the barracks building). Or is that actually one and the same bug?
