    Default RS / RTR future

OK, some of you may be aware that DVK and I have been discussing things with some of the RTR team (who have been having similar manpower issues) for a while and have enjoyed some good communications.

I've just been having some further discussion with them in terms of:

    1) Getting a bit of help /extra pairs of hands to finish off RS2
    2) The idea of the teams merging for any further development work, and potentially a move to the M2TW platform

Certainly Tony83 and PatricianS (their core team is down to about 5 people now) are on for this, and would be willing to help with beta testing and tweaking once FOE is released, which is imminent.

    Great news!
    M2tw ?
What are the thoughts on that?
    What type of time frame?

Same time frame I think (or similar) - no point in having to recreate everything again.

I'm down with it. They're one of the teams I respect most and they do very high quality work.

Ironically, I just bought M2TW and the expansion.

They are great guys so I'm all for it.

They requested some help with there music files recently and I am going to help them with that.
I think it would be great if our two teams merged or at least collaborated even more than we do now.

I think a merger going forward would be a very good idea. As Tone has posted both teams have been struggling to 'cross the finish line' with the mods currently in development.

There has been a fair bit of help between these two mod teams already - HouseOfHam in a 'consultancy' role with scripting.

I've been on outskirts of the RTR team since about 2005 - the team is always changing. New team members have taken on responsibilities all the time (not me).

If M2:TW is adopted I'd like to think the 'hunchbacks' will be able to be removed from the game.....

Hey guys, I just thought I'd drop by and say hello and what an honour it is to be here. As tone said Patrick and I will be available to help out in any way we can. Pat is a dab hand at coding, and I can turn my hand to testing.

FOE's release is very close now, and I expect that we will be spending a fair bit of time ironing out any bugs reported by the fans and balancing issues that we find ourselves, so a patch catching it it all is most likeley to occur around Xmas time.

So, in the New Year we will be ready to decide and scope out what our next project is going to be. My favourite scenario is that we merge and pool our resources (how does RSTR sound? ) and move into that heady world of non-clone armies, Med II.

I'm sure that between ourselves, and the contractors that we would undoubtably be able to attract, we could craft something really special.

    Hi guys

It's a real honour to be among all those great names! Really looking forward to a co-operation/merger of both teams

    GREAT news!

    Welcome RTR teams members!

Not sure how much I can help out with (as I am a Celtic/Gallic historian, not really a modder), but I certainly like the talk of collaboration

Then I would say that you will have an important contribution to make and role to play matey. Good historical research is the bedrock of any first class mod. Indeed, we would have been lost without our historians. Everyone has their part to play: good teamwork is vital to the success of any enterprise.
