Default RTW Gold made by sega with RS 1.6

When I went to the instruction page for 1.5 I noticed that some of the things for the installation were different than the options available for me. I have RTW Gold after it was transferred to sega. I noticed that if I want to install using the BI.exe it says to install the mod into the data folder, NOT the data subfolder from BI. Unfortunately, that's all I have regarding BI with this sega version. Do you know what I mean? My 1.5 install worked fine, (except my roman auxilia have sswords instead of spears but whatever) so should I just do the same thing for 1.6 or is there an official way to do it?

"So parents...hold on to your hats...the federal government is gonna give you 400 dollars for every child you have...so if you've got 1,000 kids...you're on freaking easy street. That's where you go, what is the government thinking? I mean wha, what do Congressmans' children eat -- MITES?!? All 400 dollars does is remind me how screwed I am; You'd be better off if you're Congressman just came to your door, and pissed on your foot."

Oh, crap...sorry guys, didn't mean to do that. I'm just always used to typing RTR that was my preferred mod until a cpl months ago.

@ Finn: Yeah I know that it does state, rather clearly, that you install in the folder where the .exe(s) are located. However, when I tried this and attempted to use the BI.exe, it brings up the loading screen, along with a desktop mouse cursor (that's odd) and just sits there. I then wiped out and tried again (luckily I have vanilla in another folder - what a great idea!), this time installing the mod into the BI folder. This time it brought the loading screen without the mouse cursor, but said that a particular building wasn't found. I understand this might be due to the fact that I installed in the wrong folder, or simply a corrupted download. But from what I understand, the gold edition requires a slightly different installation because of the different path...I think. I don't remember if my previous RS 1.5 was installed in the root or in the BI subfolder because it was a long while ago.

@Sithlord447: I know it even says that in a description, but just yesterday I saw a pic somewhere on this forum in the RS section of auxilia holding spears....maybe that pic was from a previous version?

Hmmm, is there anyway I can change the subject of my thread? I feel like a total jackass for saying RTR...

they have pila(throwing spears) like a normal legion does just their unit card shows them standing with it instead of having a drawn sword.

When you try and use the BI exe you should be using the shortcuts generated by the install process - they have the necessary switches to play RS with either RTW or RTW BI.

You will find that when using an install with RTW BI and you try and use the RTW BI exe you need to have the -mod: switch on the shortcut target.

When you refer to a 'pic somewhere on this forum in the RS section' you need to be a bit more specific - after all there are previews of the RSII game as well as screens from RS1.5 and RS1.6.

If you edit your first post you should have the opportunity to change the title - maybe you need to 'go advanced' to do so. If that doesn't work it's only a moderator that can do it.

    Oh...my...god....

In my shortcut extension I just realized, I was missing "-mod"

If installed, however, in the sega gold version, will this mod still worked within the instructions "install in the folder containing the .exe(s)?"

Man.........if this is the reason my install freaked out.......how embarrasing....see, this is why I take IT instead of programming classes......, don't ask me why, but configuring access lists is a HECK of a lot easier than setting up arrays and the like.

OH, and oddly enough, there are no shortcuts in either of the situations I have listed above being generated by the RS install.
