    Default Civil War?

Just a few questions about Civil wars in SS. I have heard them mentioned, but not enough info was given (that I saw). Here are the questions:

    1. What constitutes a 'civil war' (i.e. what happens)?
    2. Do I need any submods installed to have one?
    3. What can I do to make one happen?
    4. How do I end one?
    5. Do I get to pick a side, or do I just have to go with the FL?
    6. If/When it is over, do the rebelled generals come back to your side?

I just thought it would be interesting to make one later in the game, because I like to RP a bit, and prolong the 70 province slog.

    Thanking you all in advance.

It starts when your faction leader gets the "Offensive to Nobles" trait, after which all your generals pick a side. If they side with the king, then they get a loyalty boost. If they dont, they lose loyalty. If they truly despise the king, then they will get the "You are not my King" trait and lock themselves in their city (they lose all movement points) and cause massive unrest until the city rebels.

    2. Do I need any submods installed to have one?
    Nope

    3. What can I do to make one happen?
It's only a small chance that your faction leader will get the triggering trait. But you can use the console to give him the trait.

    4. How do I end one?
Two ways. The quick way is to kill your faction leader (suicide battles). The slow way is to increase his chivalry. If he gets high enough chivalry, the nobles realise that he's a nice guy after all and stop hating him.

    5. Do I get to pick a side, or do I just have to go with the FL?
You have to go with the faction leader.

    6. If/When it is over, do the rebelled generals come back to your side?
Generals that hate the faction leader will stop being unloyal when it is over. But generals cannot fully rebel. They cannot go over to the rebel faction. If a settlement with a general that has the "You are not my king" trait fully rebels, the general gets killed rather than turning into a rebel general. There is no way for generals to go over to the rebel faction.

To get the "Offensive to Nobles" trait, I think you just abandon all missions from the Council of Nobles.
When I played as denmark, the Council of Nobles gave me a lot of Blockage Port missions. I did none of them. The result: my king got this trait.
The heir also got it and when he become king --> the Civil War started.

For the "You are not my King" General, you can still move him out of the settement. They still have 1 (ONE) movement point --> Enough to move him out and stand beside your settlement.

Ooops, nice to know since i rarely follow the council of nobles suggestions.... They are used to give me very annoying missions at the worst moments (e.g. please exchange this town from your best ally with one of yours; while you are already at war on 2 other fronts and your ally has only 3 regions so he will never accept should you offer him half of your kingdom !!).

Thanks Caesar and boss_tay, +rep for you

Just one more question, what would I need to type into the console to get my FL the "Offensive to Nobles" trait?
