Default Historical Accuracy in TW Games

Ok sooo many people complain about if there was a RTW2 they wouldnt like it as it was historically unaccurate would it really stop you playing, however many people are effected and rely on mods.

Me personally care care less, ofcourse if historically accurate i learn quite a bit but if along the right tracks i really dont mind as long as the game is good.

    So heres a poll

Well, tbh I want as much accuracy as possible. What makes the game fun is knowing you are doing the work of a real general.

I would like a strong foundation of historical accuracy in any future Total War release. But I also don't mind the few 'fantasy' units that pop up here and there such as Rocketeer Elephants or Roman Battlefield Assassins.

I voted 'I would play, but prefer historical accuracy but still enjoy the game'.

i care much about it. i chose the second option.

i think it also would depend how historically inaccurate it gets. Red Coats in blues? doubt any one would stand it.
"Egyptians; to the young rebels, and to every one who was killed, bloodied or contributed in the simplest way, what you did has defied any description. you have the world on it's knees gazing at your bravery and determination. you have opened up a new chapter in Egyptian history, one that will be determined by people's love for this country" - an honorable revolutionary,

There will always be a balance between historical accuracy and playability. Some of the charm of the historic games is that you can change history. Like sparta conquering all of the meditaranian

I like some historical accuracy, but a bend here and there for game-play is OK.

Well I voted for the "I would play, but prefer historical accuracy but still enjoy the game "

Besides, for RTW we have EB
    for MTW2 we have SS
for ETW we have no specific 1 historically accurate mod...but I hope EW(European Wars) will be good

In the final analysis, this is a game not a history lecture and thus playability will always be more important than accuracy. That being said, if I saw really ridiculous things in a game that is supposed to be historical (like Mongols attacking the Roman Empire) that might be a deal breaker for me. Any historically based game like the TW series should try to be historically accurate until accuracy becomes a significant burden on gameplay.
