The idea occured to me when playing medievall II, where the advisor said about your family members "some will be great generals, other good governors, and some are best send far away on dangerous campaigns"
It made me think with something else I once read about Rome. That the numbers of family members is sort of linear with the number of provinces you have. It always annoyed me when you have a stable faction and just are building, not expanding into new provinces, that no children are born so withinh 20 turns you will have a shortage of governors/generals.
Now we all know negative traits come with old age (money spending, unrest provoking), and i always send my members (if they aren't good generals) around on the map to make some watch towers. Would disposing of them when they are not yet senior (about 50 or so), give me new kids in the family?
I know disposing of them is simple, you just send them in a (naval) battle where you have no chance of winning and autoresolve
So what do you guys think?
