    Default Checking programs

I was wondering if there were any programs that could check the following:

    1) Check the descr_strat to ensure that all characters have the correct name.

    2) Checks the battle_models.modeldb to ensure all the files are in the correct folders.

    3) Check the export_descr_character_traits to ensure all the triggers give points to an existing trait.

    1) Yes there's a tool: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=85734
    2) Have no idea
    3) There will be one released shortly, probably in the next two weeks (I'm a bit busy so it might take me a bit to finish up my changes)

    Geomod does number one.

Modeldb will be difficult as that would mean you need a program that can read and find files in the packs.

Traits would be neat if you can check them. But the checks will have to take conditions into consideration, how are you going to do that? Example:

    Condition one = mesoamerican culture
    Condition two = custom event

How are you going to check if that will work? Or am I looking at it from the wrong angle?

The program I linked to does just names, which might more of what is being sought.

Have a look at my ATVTW (the program I'm working is just the next version of it) to see how it works for RTW. Some conditions are significantly harder to check than others, but all are checkable.

Conditions are all of the form:
    Code:
    Condition [not] <conditionname> [<parameter> [<parameter> . . . ]]
    or
    Code:
    and [not] <conditionname> [<parameter> [<parameter> . . . ]]
You just check the name of the condition and if its a valid condition name check to see if the parameters that are listed are valid for the parameters the condition is expecting.

Thanks for the name checker Squid, unfortunately all I can download at the moment is an empty file so I'll have to download it later.

What I meant for the trait checker was something that would check that the trigger was giving point to a real trait, so that it would check the 'Affects Brave 1 Chance 10' to ensure that there was a 'Trait Brave'. Will you trait checker check this? I wish to know as I've had problems with mispelled traits, as M2TW crashes if you try to give points to a trait that doesn't exist.

Yes it does, though as I mentioned in my last post the current version only does so for RTW. I'm working on, and have nearly completed, a new version which will also work for M2TW.
