Default Quick question on steam and SS.

A friend of mine is looking at getting the Kingdoms expansion specifically to play SS 6.2.

I use two discs so i'm unsure about how it works bearing in mind he has retail MTW2.I assume steam will download Kingdoms into the MTW2 folder but as i'm not sure so i thought i'd better check here.

Any advice on using the retail MTW + with the steam kingdoms expansion + SS would be much appreciated.

The search function is your friend I use steam, and before I got the mod to work, I spent a day using the search function in order to find answers to my questions. Anyway, your question has been answered here: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=303108

Can anyone with steam test this for me?
Download the attached file. Unpack it and put the .exe inside steamapps\medieval\mods\Stainless_Steel_6\
In Steam Click "My Games", then click "Add non-steam game" from the bottom. Browse to the file, click "Add selected programs". Double-click the new shortcut. Works?
And try double clicking the .exe file without Steam turned on, and report if it works..

It ain't gonna mess up your installation, btw.

Before he does buy it, just to lett you know quite a few people have had problems having different version fo m2tw and kingdoms(retail and steam) and it sometimes can't be fixed by conventional methods of getting m2tw mods to work with steam.

It would probabaly be fine if he wasnt gonna play mods but as he is I would strongly reccomend he gets kingdoms retail and all the latest patches.

And yet again I refer to norsca's post http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...72#post2510072 , this guy deserves so much more credit.

    Kind Regards
    Will

P.S Steam does have good pricing, if you buy m2tw complete(not called gold for some reason) you get kingdoms free.
    Fancy Sigs are pointless.
Also I use that Avatar on every forums, cba to get a different one.
I've finished with "Kind Regards" in my post for years so dont feel you have to reward me for it(like someone kindly did).

cheers for the replies and suggestion's lads, much appreciated

After spending a bit of time reading up about it i've suggested he buys the retail version of kingdoms. Can't get robbed for 5 quid.Especially when it means he can play SS for the first time - MTW2 as it should have been imo.

    Thanks again all.
