io file first question

Hey guys on my old computer i have a 1.3 version export_descr_unit file. If i paste that one file in my data folder(onto my new computer) without unpacking anything and putting io file first will it still crash? The only reason y i think it would crash is becuase theres only 1 txt file in the data folder and everything else is still packed? Thanks in advance

If you are running version 1.03 nothing will happen. At least not until you put the file_first line into the cfg file.

And if that file has not been altered, then the question is: why would you want to do it? The file exists in the pack files where the game reads it from.
