    Default help as Epirus

How the hell do you get anywhere as this faction..?

so far i have fought 2 full stack armies (which had terrain superiority...thanks for setting up the map like that...) and 1 full stack followed by a quarter stack and i won due to terrain superiority and took aprium....now Rome refuses peace, have besieged aprium with my army in it and refuse to assault so i have to sally forth or risk total annihilation, 4k negative in finances, macedon declared war on me for no reason, and...now i am lost...i feel like the campaign is completely unbalance since rome can lose 4500 soldiers in the course of 3 battles and still throw out the stacks of 1500 units while macedon turns into a little benedict arnold and attacks me....now i cant fight the macedonians cause if my army leaves rome, rome will attack all my italian cities, and i cant fight macedon cause my armies are to small in the mainland....so yah...can you please remove whatever advanced cloning device rome has that allows him to throw stacks at me constantly....this is getting ridiculous

Teutonic Joe: Now you know what Pyrrhus of Epirus felt. Romans kept sending a fresh contingent of troops each time they got beat. I suggest you try playing with lower difficulty settings and remove AI experience bonus, if you can't handle it. For some it's not that hard. Conquering Rome shouldn't be a piece of cake anyways.

I agree with Redfox. Epirus is supposed to be a hard faction. It is a very difficult campaign and therefore very fun to play.

however i am not receiving the same grievous losses Epirus received (unless 300-500 casualties count as Pyrrhic wins). I defeated the full stack that besieged Aprium with my crap army, macedon is just blockading my docks, i am finally earning money, but the roman kamino run cloning facilities are working again and now their cities are pumping sufficient stacks of pain. Now i have killed probably around 6k romans (3 1.5k stacks, 1 1.2k stack....meh close). Realistically that probably compares to a infantry force for 1 army instead of 4 separate armies, but in RTW thats alot...a player would be crippled with those losses. I am playing on normal/normal and i am caught off guard with this much aggression from Rome on this difficulty...they refuse peace and now auto_win_defender is my best friend.....since my attacking army is only 1/4th of the original stack and Pyrrhus died of old age...conveniently

the other conclusion is EU Rome spoiled me since as Epirus i have already conquered the entire southern boot of Rome....with the help of Magna Greece....which brings the question of why the hell the Greeks wont help me since i believe they are the reason why I am here in the first place...but they are fighting Carthage for some reason....

I do believe massive stacks like that are a bit too much. I'll lower the AI income for Rome a bit and hope it works.

isnt it more related to manpower? cause i always viewed it as a situation with having to big of a population.

No, it's a situation of having too much money and being able to recruit a new stack every turn.

You must defeat main roman army under command of Decius Mus without too much losses.

I defeating Rome every time in campaign like this:

Just 4 battles, hardest vs Decius Mus. Dont forget destroy all citizens in captured roman cities!

Pyrrhus is most mightiest generals at start of the imperial campaign. use it After the roman war my Pyrrhus have 9 stars and 8 influence.
PS: sry for my eng... but i think u understand me GL

thats what i have been doing
its just when i kill 6k romans and i have only conquered 1 city their is something wrong....since Epirus doesnt have a big financial base in greece or southern italy and i fear their greecian cities are to weak to fend of other greeks.

U need to build up many stacks after beating decius mus, thne u must move fast and take all the east coast of italy, from there u build up forces again and strike the western regions
