That happened to me too once, also on my Julii campaign. The peace was kept for about 10 turns before I decided to destroy a rebel army that was a bit too close for comfort outside one of my cities.
DDDDDDDDDDUUUUUUUDDDDDDDDDDDEEEEEEEEEEEE LoL this happened to me once whilst i was the julii, i had just desroyed the spanish and one of their diplomats (now a rebel) came up to one of my cities and asked for a ceasfire... i accepted and i wasnt at war wiv dem any more... i was like WTF,,, if you search this fourm my thread about it will be somewhere............ i thought i was the only onelol

Yes this has happened to me before, but the rebels broke the peace the next turn in the typical AI fashion. However, it is one of those rare occasions in the RTW single-player that makes me happy.
