Default What are the effects of fatigue?

This is one question that have been boggling me since the days of Shogun, but I thought I had figured out back then. I re-question that for a while now but have been unable to make out myself or find reliable info. Can anyone tell the real effects of fatigue?

I saw some people saying it affects morale, but I had been more concerned with and assumed that it also lowers combat stats like attack or defense. Would that be the case? I'm already well aware of speed reduction, but the main thing I want to learn is if it reduces combat efficiency.

Much like Morale, there's no way to measure it's effects fully. However, they're not as effective in combat, as said.

You move slower and it reduces morale. I'm not sure about attack/defense.

From my observations I see that tired troops are slower, have lower moral and attack less.

Fatigue just destroys the unit making it attack less, run slower, die more and so on ... I hate when my units are Exhausted !

Isn't there a way to check it in the files?

Yeah, it's strange that CA themselves didn't give any sound info about this for 10 years now.

I see, I always preferred the troops which had at least "good stamina" before, morale and speed isn't an issue but less or slower attack would obviously be threatening. I guess I'll continue to hold stamina in high regard.

Units with "Good" or "Excellent" stamina are well worth the extra cost. It takes longer for them to reach "Exhausted" and units really suck once they hit "Exhausted". If you're fighting heavy inf vs heavy inf and your units have better stamina, you'll notice a big swing in the battle when the enemy units reach exhausted before yours do. Units also 'run' a lot slower once they're 'Exhausted'.
