Default More Kingdoms factions in Vanilla mod

Hi there (first thread ever for me),
I'm about to finish my own mod and wondered if people want me to make it available?
Basically I pretty much like M2TW and kingdoms as they play, originally I just wanted to be able to play as Norway or Wales on the Grand Campaign.
I tried to find a mod that would allow me to do this, firstly tried Gaelic Kingdoms; full of bugs and no Norway faction.
Next tried Stainless Steal; tremendous mod but I found it about as much fun to play with as string theory i.e. very frustrating, it's slow and has loads of new additions affecting gameplay.

I next tried a big retro fit that someone did, it looked good but the ai had been fiddled with leading to bugs and more frustration.

In the end I figured the only way I'd be satisfied is if I learned to do all this modding stuff myself. So I did. I used Retrofit Mod as my base and after adding Norway and Wales I got carried away and have done the following:

    1. Added, Wales, Ireland, Lithuania (with Pagan religion), Novogrod (changed Russia to Kievian Rus) and Norway as playable factions. All their units and symbols and textures are included.
    2. Added Teutonic Order, Antioch and Jerusalem as emergent factions at the time of their arrival outside their respective cities.
    3. I also utilised BigMap to allow for a richer world map and added a few more regions to UK so things get very claustrophobic and tense if you play as Wales, Scotland or Ireland.

I obviously enjoy the mod and am extremely satisfied by the fact it doesn't crash or bug out at any time or turn since I've backed up and tested every little thing I've done and was wondering if other people are interested in a simple extra factions retrofit without ai changes, recruitment changes or anything else which changes the balance and fun factor of the game?
I've attached pictures if you'd like a look.

Obviously many people love the above mentioned mods and I've just given my personal opionion and that does not reflect my acknowledgement of the tremendous hard work and effort that went into those mods since from my post it is clear that they were my inspiration for modding in the first place.

So, if you're interested in what I've done, feel free to comment or let me know. If no-one is interested then that's cool as I can happily continue playing my own mod as I am and I wont have to work out how to make the file available to download or anything .

Changes I will make to my mod soon will involve making conquering the Holy lands more appealing to players who aren't bothered for various reasons and I'll say more on that depending on interest. Once that's done, I'll leave it finished and that's that, no ai additions, no gameplay changes, just good old M2TW with added Kingdoms Factions.

Thanks if you managed to read all of this, you've already done more than I thought you'd do.

P.S. Any help on how I'd be able to make the file available without getting myself into trouble with the missis (she's a patent law examiner and I realise a lot of the content is just copied info from Kingdoms into Vanilla) will be appreciated.

If your mod runs on kingdoms and you have permission to use the other mods in it, its perfectly legal. Make an installer and upload to filefront please!

well it looks great~except it another mod which does not do much for northern Africa
not a bad thing neccessarily but I personally prefer to invade Africa and the middle east
and convert it all to christianity.

Thanks for the positive encouragement there.
I don't know what rep is or how it works.
I'll learn how to use file front and how to compress folders and try to get my 4.1Gb mod folder onto filefront! It might need to go in several parts.

    Yeah,
I've compressed the file into two zip's one's 550 mb and the other's about 350 mb. I'll look more into the legality of it first before I make any files available.
    Thanks for your help!

Splendid work! I just have two simple queries. First, could you play as these factions in skirmishes? And second, could you not also add Sweden? I think that the decision to add Norway was a fantastic one, I much like Medieval Total War XL and it's addition of Norway and Sweden. In any case, I would certainly desire to play this mod if you would be so kind as to make it available to us. By the by, Ireland in the Grand Campaign has been a dream of mine since I've got the game, I must thank you very much for adding my people into the game.

Thanks again for the support on this,
My missis flipped when I told her I was gonna put this up on file front (she's a patent examiner), I am a little worried about the legality but others have put mods up which include game content so I'm sure it's ok.
I'll wait for the site moderators to get back to me on my querries before I go ahead.

I've finished it now, my little extra involves all christian factions being able to recruit the best Jerusalem and antioch units (e.g. cannons of the holy sepulcher and constable of Jerusalem to name just two) when certain regions in the holy land are taken. I've included Kiev and Novgorod in that seeing as they haven't been given much to do in the game regarding crusades and so on so well worth the effort.

As for another faction, it is tempting to add Sweden based on possibly Norway and Novgorod using the aztec faction but like I said I'm happy with it now and when I put it on file front I'll state that people can use it as a base for whatever modding they want. That could encourage you to add your own faction from scratch whether it's the Cuman, Kingdom of Sweden or Hammadite kingdom in Africa!

It takes a lot of time and effort to learn all the little ins and outs of modding since the tutorials don't tell you everything (e.g. as you can only have 31 factions the game will only read up to 31 banners so any beyond that wont be shown!).
    More on this later.

No insult intended, but being a patent examiner she doesn't seem to know much, its perfectly legal so long as you don't make money out of it. CA is fine with modders creating mods, the proof being this very sites existence.

    None taken Vikingr,
She's just a worrier and her field is chemistry, not programming copyright which I pointed out.
I've dumped loads of the data folder which isn't needed as a lot of the content runs from the main M2TW folder and my rar file is about 240 Mb now so I'll upload it when I get the chance, before the end of the week hopefully.
    Cheers!
