    Default Model Shading Problem

    Can anyone please explain why this strange line seperation keeps showing up between the two halves of the part of the model I've circled. It's the only part of the model that has this strange shading problem and autosmooth is unchecked.

    the sharp shadow effect is probably because the vertexes along that line are not welded.
