    Default Famine, desertion and population depletion

    Is there a way in Medival 2 to use famine or army desertion within settlements, such as devestation causing the population of a settlement to deplete or a unit's size to deplete after a certain amount of time? And is it possible for unit recruitment to deplete settlement population like in Rome Total War?

    1. Population\units deplete only during sickness (pest) and when in a town during the outbreak (units).
    2. Recruitment is no longer linked to population

    Is that hardcoded? And is it possible to use scripts to link the two?

    yup, there is a "Population control" script, that works basically with add_population from the console_command

    There is also a famine line in the Strat.

    famine_threat 0

    I don't know what it does.

    I guess it increases the chances of a famine... but I don't know what a famine does.

    EDIT: I added famine_threat 100 to Constantinople province... nothing happened. I think I have to add it somewhere in the disasters or events. I don't know.

    It is a left over from one of the previous versions of the game and has no effect. But it is needed in the descr_strat to place forts and watchtowers.
