    The texture I was referring to can be found in by navigating to IS_mod_BSM_4_1_Medium or the like. Vanilla doesn't have it.

    Hey everyone! really new to the foruns here but in my british playthrough the Marines dont seem to have a card picture. Any ideas why?

    HighOnTea I discovered this within the landbattle.xml of the IT_Bsm_Wfx.pack of Minor Factions Revenge and it works, must not have NAP effects enabled if you have it or else it won't work but otherwise it seems to works well

    So it appears IS simply did not have the right script included in the landbattle.xml!

    I got it working on my end, too. Now it would be great to see if it is possible to get more crate variety depending on various shells!

    Well that should be fairly easy to do, I tested it out and it seems to work rather well IMO
    First of all create a new script by copying the Fire_scorch effect script and pasting it below it, then re-name it to
    Fire_scorch2 for example.

    Then scroll down to <SCALE_INFO name= and alter vector(variance, originally it was vector(variance(2.0,1.5), I altered it to vector(variance(1.0,0.5)and then changed every entry of (2.0,1.5) within Fire_scorch2 to the new (1.0,0.5), when that's done look for max_effects='5000' which is near the bottom of the new script and change it to '500'.

    Now with the script set scroll down to near the bottom of the landbattle.xml and look for the cannon you want to change for the impact crater for example the
    <SCRIPTED_EFFECT_GROUP name='Cannon_Groundimpact_gen_24shell2' > has an entry for
    <SCRIPTED_EFFECT_GROUP_ENTRY name='Fire_scorch' effect='Fire_scorch' /> for the bigger shell hits
    and
    <SCRIPTED_EFFECT_GROUP name='Cannon_Groundimpact_gen_9lber' > has an entry
    <SCRIPTED_EFFECT_GROUP_ENTRY name='Fire_scorch2' effect='Fire_scorch2' /> for smaller hits

    of course adjust to your own preference
    here's an example of the result

    to your right are the 24 pounders impact craters and just to your left of those are the 6 pounders


    or you could change the skin and texture entirely for script two from out of the NTW effects textures, ie: impact_decal2_diffuse.dds and impact_decal2_normal.dds
    to get 2 completely different results for different cannons (not really my cup of tea but...)

    example:

    the big craters are the originals and the small are the decal2 etc etc

    Hello, i have a big problem, i've started a campaign as France on RotR, now i am in 1804 (Revolution happens and so on) but now i've seen that i cannot recruit anymore from Paris (no units in the HUD). It is a bug? Maybe corrupted save or something like this? I'll hope that someone could help me.

    It's a bug but you are behind the timeline. Maybe this is the cause. But I'll have a look.

    Greetings, I'm playing IS 2.2. (Great mod) I am unable to research steel ramrod as France. The patch fixed some tech tree issues for me but not all. British tech tree has some unsearchable tech issues as well. Any suggestions? I will keep trying to find what it could be and post if I find it. Thank you in advance for any tips and help.

    In the quick battle early era unit rosters there are a lot of units without names, or period icons, and if I use them in a battle I find a lot of units with wrong model - texture combos. The late period plays fine, all unit neatly represented. Is this how things are at the moment or did I miss a pack somewhere?

    No you didn't miss anything. The early era has many missing things and this issues will not be adressed soon as we are occupied with finishing the late era (RotR)

    Hello,
    First of all, thanks for this great mod. I've played it some years ago and I would like to retry it. But I've got an issue. When I launch the mod it's just play native empire total war. I tried many things. I downloaded five or six times the mod (and patches) as well as ETW. Infortunaly the mod doesn't works. The only difference is the loading screen. And when I launch the mod, it's written that 9 files (pack) are displaced.

    I don't know. User.empire_script is in the IS folder (Empire Total War\data\IS).

    Your user.empire_script should be here in win 7 and it should be relatively the same for the other windows operating systems for example:
    C:\Users\user_name\AppData\Roaming\The Creative Assembly\Empire\scripts

    IS_Flags.pack
    IS_france.pack
    IS_Horses.pack
    is_load.bat
    IS_mod_no_forts.pack
    IS_sounds_musics.pack
    is_unload.bat
    ISBeffecto.pack
    ISicon.ico
    ISlauncher.exe <--- This will also launch the game.
    ISlauncher.ico
    patch_is_text.pack
    user.empire_script.txt
    When you click on either "Imperial Splendour.exe" or "ISlauncher.exe," it will bring up a graphic of a framed map. In the middle is the "Start." Click on that. This will load Imperial Splendour.
    The Green is the User script.
    The bring files are the files that load Imperial Splendour. When you click on the Imperial Splendour execute, it will place all of the pack files in the data folder and tell the system to read and activate the IS packs.
    If you are using the "Empire.exe" it will load vanilla Empire.
    Do not touch the user script in the int the script folder. it will not launch Imperial Splendour unless the files are placed directly in the data folder.

    As an FYI, if you ever wanted to add a pack/ mod to IS, all you would need to do, is give an "IS_ prefix and add it to the user script. There are no guarantees that other mods will work. It would depend on if there are any conflicts. You may have to play with the order. The first listed is the last one loaded.

    Thanks for your answers. I still have this issue. I looked in my IS folder and I had all files correctly except for one: I don't have "IS_BSM_Full.pack" but "IS_mod_BSM_4_1_Medium.pack". I really don't understand where the bug come's from. Last time I played this mod, all installed correctly and easely

    perhaps copy the files from IS folder to the data folder
    for example copy these .pack files below and paste them into the data folder when that's done
    copy the IS user.empire_script.txt fileand replace the one that's there in the script folder
    (NOTE:you may want to backup the original user empire script file first before you replace it as I can't remember if it will make a new one if this doesn't work and you have to restore it)

    IS_Artillery.pack
    IS_britain.pack
    IS_BSM_Full.pack
    IS_Flags.pack
    IS_france.pack
    IS_Horses.pack
    IS_mod_no_forts.pack
    IS_sounds_musics.pack

    This is correct. I chose to install the full version of that mod as opposed to the medium. The user script and the file comes from the installer is the medium version.

    This will not work because it will load the vanilla campaign folder not Imperial splendour folder. If you use Mod manager it should work.
    You wouldn't need to back up the IS script as you do not delete the IS folder.

    Imperial Splendour creates its own campaign folder. The directory can be found here. { C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Empire Total War\data\campaigns\imperial_splendour }
    There are several files within the folder.

    The campaign folder will look like this
    Episodic_1
    Episodic_2
    Episodic_3
    Imperial_ Splendour
    Main_1

    Native

    Just one last thing. You need to download and install every patch, especially the first two, the game will not load without them.
