Default New problem with BC 2.02 - strange CTD when starting

Seems I'm experiencing a whole myriad of problems with BC 2.02 lately. First it was the confusion with the 2.02 update and now this.

I installed the 2.02 update successfully, finally. Started the game, everything was going fine. I started a new campaign with the Khwarezmians. As soon as the game loads up and I'm on the campaign map I decide to save it. Press ESC, type in the name of the save game and press save, then I get an unspecified error and a CTD.

Ok, I know about this error and that there's a fix which is a bc.cfg file. I download the file and replace the original one in BC folder with the downloaded one. Then I try to start the game again. This time the game starts loading but for some reason I get the default M2TW loading screen and then another error, this time it has no name. Here's a screen shot of it:

So I went ahead and deleted some of the .bin files suggested in the 2.02 sticky as apparently they can cause problems with some games. The files were deleted and I tried starting the game. I click on the BC icon, and again I get the default M2TW loading screen and an error with no name as in above screenshot.

What the hell is going on with the game?

No message means the mod you are running is missing the strat, shared and tooltips text files in its data\text folder. To find out which mod you are running, follow the next steps:
    - Check the properties of your shortcut
    - Check the path in the bat file referred there (right click the bat file and choose 'edit')
    - Check the path in the cfg file referred in the bat file (opens with notepad)
