My goal in my new campaign shall be too see if one settlement can survive whitout getting Bancrupt,Conquered,Rebelling etc. Is it even possible?
I know you all wondering what the hell you want "1" settlement for.Well i want to give myself a real challenge whitout the usual world conquering that allways ends up in a victory sooner or later anyway.
Now on too the point!
My first thought must be what faction i want too play as and that can be a crucial choice
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Greeks-They start out with the island of (Rhodes++) which gives you 40% navaltrade
Pros- heavy seabased trade and good income,No rebels on the island and no devastation can emerge.
Cons- the port can be blocked by any faction which puts the city in a desperate time, the wonder effect wears of, no land based trade.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Egypt-Another island (Salamis+++) the island has no wonder but it has a mine and some bigger landmass then Rhodes to dispose some unwanted generals and their crappy traits. Although the island depends on its seatrade it can survive using the mine and farm income for a while.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Brutii-(Croton+++½)This is a mainland settlement but it is rarely attacked and have both land and sea trade possibilities. And a mine! but if you play as an other faction then brutii you would find yourself in big trouble running this settlement. Due to the other roman families and Greek/Macedon fleets floating around.
I think both Brutii and Egypt is the best choice for a faction example, Brutii have high skilled governors due to the senates councills officess or whatever it is which gives high influence and the people likes that. The egypt has many temples to boost both happiness and health in the city.
Feel free to fill in some other settlements/factions and thoughts, tips that may help in my management battle.
tnx // Peter
