Game Crashes

Hi, sorry if this post is in the wrong place.
Anyway I heard about the total realism mod earlier and decided to give it a try. I uninstall my old game and all the saved files, reinstall it and patch to 1.2. I then download Total realism 6 and install it. Now when I try to play the game it gets to the first loading page with all the info about creative assembly etc then just crashes back to the desktop, no error messages or delay or anything just straight back to the desktop. Have I missed anything out here? Thanks.

Hey I had this problem at first, you need to add -show_err at the end of the target for the short cut, and it should work, not sure why O.o but it does.

Ie:

go to your shortcut and change the target from,

"...\RomeTW.exe"

to,

"...\RomeTW.exe" -show_err

@Vespidian - can you confirm which version of RTW you have at the start?

If you have a version later than 1.2 then it's a waste of time applying the 1.2 patch to downgrade the game. It's best to patch it up to 1.5.

If you have RTW 1.2 then you can use RTR 6 Gold (or patch it beyond 1.2).
If you have RTW 1.3 then you can use RTR PE or RTR VII TIC (after patching it up to 1.5).

The version number is shown in-game on the top right hand side of the options menu.
