    Default Quick question

Right quick question, if you only had one campaign to play....ever again before time stopped and the universe imploded...which faction would you play as and why.

You see im looking for the most special and best campaign SS has to offer, where i can get emotionally attached to each defeat and victory. Without just thinking sod it...there just a computer simulation of a time long forgotten and who really cares if my kingdom has fallen and will be shared among my enemies.

Tough call. I dont know, vanilla SS 6.1 ?

Its probably going to come down to the Teutonic Order for me, personally.

    Q: Why ?
A: The TO campaign is long, and your a definite under-dog, the factions you have around you make for some easy non-christian expansion, and staying in good graces with mr.pope is quite easy with so many juicy crusade targets just east of you. Plus, the castle roster is top notch, and just as a general rule: its always fun to play as 'ZE GERMANZ' in games, if only for the funny accents.

    Q: is it hard ?
A: Oh yes, very hard, though it depends on what AI submod your using. With 6.2, i wouldnt think twice about cheating a bit early on to get myself going, im just not -that- good at the game, lol.

Thats it for my personal choice... My alternatives (in order) would likely be...
    1. Sicily: cool militia, color scheme, and nice starting position; roster is very 'meh'
    2. Byzantium: just fun to play as the romans, faction roster is very 'meh' without CBUR
    3. Templars: just because ive never played as them, but always have wanted to.

That's a real mother- of a question. I *never* play as HRE, France, Cumans, Hungary or Poland (don't know why, guess just don't really interest me) so probably one of them.

    Or England, because i'm English

a good underdog faction is either portugal or aragon, in a tight space, surrounded by moors and the loose cannon spanish, and the french pigs.

I know it seems almost fashionable atm but the Byzzies are always a fun campaign, with lots of options and a good central start position!

My choice would probably have to be Venice. I'm playing them at the moment, and they are a good Medium difficulty faction. While you have access to some of the richest cities in the game right from the beginning, you are surrounded by enemies who all want a piece of the Venetian Pie. They have access to some quite ok units in all periods, and can be an absolute powerhouse if played correctly, but still offer a great challenge, as they have to constantly be in the Pope's good books to avoid excommunication.

My other choices would be the following
    1. Byzantine Empire: THEY'RE ROMANS!!! Need I say more...
    2. Kwarezmian Empire: Playing from the early period is a real challenge, having to be ready for that Nasty horde that will spawn around turn 100
    3. Norway: As a lover of Heavy Infantry, they are really a good choice, with lots of options for expansion
