    Default Model Attachment Question

Edit- Read my second post, it makes a lot more sense.

I'm trying to figure out how to add some small shoulder plates to a model and am wondering if theres a way to keep them separate from the arms. I've tried just making a copy of one of the arms and regrouping it together with the plates but it just ends up giving me the half-invisible jesus syndrome.

One last thing, is there a way to use Lithunwrap so that it doesn't delete all the comments from the second model that is being merged; it gets pretty frustrating.

If you created the shoulder plates yourself, then make sure that you have assigned the plates to a joint or you will get the jesus syndrome.

Why are you using Lithunwrap to merge models? Use either GrumpyOldMan's converter or the GOAT toolbox :

I figured out the shoulder plate problem last night, basically had to reattach the plates to their respective bones every time I adjusted their position. Confusing, but at least it works.

Now for the second question... Err sorry was pretty sleepy when I posted this last night and I didn't explain it properly and wrote the wrong thing. Its not about the problems with merging but its about the comments for all the groups getting deleted when I try to modify the UV. Then if I go and refill the comments for the groups by hand I get the half-invisible jesus syndrome. The model works just fine before the changing the UV, but goes crazy afterwards.

Once again, sorry I was unclear last night, I got way too caught up in my model and stayed up even though I was real tired.

Hehe no worries mate. I've done that many times. Had a problem with a model late at night I can't seem to fix. In frustration I go to bed and in the morning, I work out the problem in 5 minutes

Yes there is a way to stop Lithunwrap from deleting your comments. In Lithunwrap, instead of saving the model, go to File>Export>UV. Save the file as a .LUV file. This saves just the UV-map.

Then load up the model in Milkshape and go to File>Import>Lithium Unwrapper LUV. And voila! It'll import the new UV map and your comments will be in tact
