    Default [EU3] Advisers

Are they random or is there anyway, say through the choices I make in investing in techs, that I can get decent ones? When you begin the game you're offered a fairly nice selection of advisers from which to pick, but at least for me when one of them dies off, you're stuck with the rep dudes ( I never need those) or the stability art dudes. I rarely require that either as I like to stick to 3+ stability. The worst one, for me anyways, is the missionary. I get a message every other year saying so and so missionary has come to my lands and that we have a year to recruit him before anyone else does. I don't need them! Why can it not be the army investment dude or the tech investment man?

So, how do I get folks who will invest in tech for me or who'll help to reduce my interest rate or bump up some yearly army tradition?

Advisors appear when a nation is annexed, although as for which types you get I believe it is random. I don't like it either, right now I have only Stability and Interest advisors for hire, of totally no use to me when I'm trying to colonize and build a navy.

Alors. Perhaps there's a mod out there, though I am loath to resort to such things. (Yeah, coming for a retired modder, right? )

I've had good advisers, don't get me wrong. Just that I grow tired of having to sit there with my hand on the spacebar to pause it so I can grab a new adviser before the AI does.

That's pretty much what you have to do though. When a buddy and I would Lan, we'd always wait for advisers to pop up and we'd both try to quickly pause and beat the other to taking the good ones. It was humorous and ridiculous both at the same time. I haven't played a mod at this point that offers a chance for any kind of auto pausing (probably not even possible) or some type of vast alteration of the adviser system.

^ Hhahha, well shucks. That's too bad. I really value a good adviser, one that will invest in a tech for me. Funny sorry all the same.

You don't have to tell me. Finding two or three 4 or 5 star advisers in the same field (if you want to invest that way) can literally reshape your country. It may be worth popping over to Paradox's site too look for an adviser mod. I've never modded Para's games like I have CA's so I'm not nearly as familiar with EU's internal workings. Most mods I've played add or change the advisers but I've never seen any that change the system. I don't want to lead you astray just in case there is some great mod over there that fits your needs.

Make sure you grab some of the unwanted advisors at the start of the game at 14th of oct 1400, always plenty of 6 star advisors

Analysis should not be diverted by reflections upon the zeal with which the victors at the end of the Second World War punished the defeated for war crimes. The victors were animated by the ideals of the Atlantic Charter and of the United Nations. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights was about to peep over the eastern horizon. But first, they wanted a little hanging.

^ I agree! The start of the game and that date are the only time anything good comes my way in the adviser field.

The new EUIII expansion coming out will apparently be including a "culture tradition" factor that will allow you to recruit new advisers rather than race the AI to them, or something like that.

That sounds great actually. I haven't really read up on Heir to the Throne at all. I guess I need to.
