ATTENTION TO ALL RTW 1.5 AND BI 1.6 PLAYERS!!!

As the title says, this is only for players who use the RTW 1.5 and the BI 1.6 .exes to play DTW, therefore ALX players don't have to worry.

There have been a couple of people reporting that the Wars of the Diadochi campaign caused a crash immediately after clicking the "start campaign" button. So I uninstalled my copy of DTW, removed the ALX.exe and then reinstalled the mod, to have a BI install.

As some of you, I experienced an immediate CTD. There was infact a quite important error in the WotD descr_strat.txt. Uncommented (without the ;;;PUSHER_ALX;;; tag) ai_do_not_attack_faction entries. This feature works only with ALX, and causes immediate crash on both BI and RTW. The default file should have had the comments, and then the installation script should have decided either to keep them (for RTW and BI players) or to remove them (for ALX players, to use these nice features).

Since I use ALX, I kept those entries, and I must have forgotten to comment them before committing the file for release.

I apologize to everyone for having caused you that annoying CTD. That was quite a big negligence on my part.

Without making you wait for a patch, and since it's a single file, here's a working descr_strat.txt. Put it into your ...\RTW\DTW\data\world\maps\campaign\Wars-of-the-Diadochi folder and you should be able to play the WotD campaign. Enjoy and, again, sorry.

And thanks to Seleucus_I and ChampionEuropa for pointing this out, but they weren't surely the only ones getting this CTD.

*sigh* Thanks for fixing it Spartan 666. Did you commit the file to the repository too? Please keep testing with the PUSHER_ALX's present. It doesn't really make that big of a difference.

NEW UPDATE FOR RTW 1.5\ BI 1.6 PLAYERS!

Be sure to go into your DTW\preferences folder and be sure in preferences.txt the AUTO_SAVE option is FALSE. If it's TRUE, you will likely have savegames corruption and absurd CTDs.

And it's almost sure you have TRUE, because of another error in the default file which should have been modified by the installation script.

Again, be sure to do it, it can really save you a lot of swares and troubles.

@ RedFox: the default file had the option to TRUE, while and the installation script should have turned it from FALSE to TRUE only for ALX players. Since it was already TRUE, everyone find themselves with TRUE, this probably causing all those savegames corruption. I fixed it and committed the file.

AUTO_SAVE must be TRUE by default. Don't change stuff like that so radically. The installer script will turn it off for BI and RTW in the next patch which will probably be out quite soon.

I guess we will also need some beta-testers for BI.

Sorry, but I installed on BI and found myself with TRUE. I checked the 1.1 Full Script and there were no entries to turn it to FALSE in 1.5 and 1.6. But such entries are in the Patches script.

Anyway, in the ALX section there are these:

Push "AUTO_SAVE:FALSE"
Push "AUTO_SAVE:TRUE"

If it's TRUE by default, aren't these useless since they turn from FALSE to TRUE?

It was just leftover code and I didn't bother to remove it. Now stop messing around with the script, it's ok in the patch.

No, you have to download the fixed descr_strat.txt. It will be needed to all 1.5\1.6 players a patch is released.

icant seem to b able to play online with other plyers cuz i got the BI but every1 else has RTW what can i do so i can b able to play online?

Either other players get BI, or you unistall the mod and make a RTW install instead of a BI. It's sufficent you cut\paste somewhere the BI.exe, install 1.1 + 1.11 and then put again the BI.exe into the RTW folder.

Btw, I just noticed in my BI install that in the descr_strat.txt of the barbarian_invasion campaign there's:

campaign alexander

Shouldn't it be

campaign barbarian_invasion ?
