Re: Plz Help
Welcome Seleucus (I see it's your first post..)! Glad you like the mod!
It seems you are not the only one having troubles playing the WotD campaign. We have already had more than one report. We play and test the mod with ALX, which gives faaar less troubles than BI. The first suggestion is that if you have ALX, you should play DTW with it. And ALX is far better in AI, scripting, and has a lot of nice features, that's why we use it instead of BI.
BI is well known to cause a lot of troubles with DTW, but this issue with causing CTDs with the WotD campaign is relatively new, we'll have to figure it out. In the meantime you can enjoy the Imperial and the Pyrrhic Wars campaigns.
And, of course, thanks for reporting this issue.
EDIT: SOLVED, CHECK HERE http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...45#post6087545

Re: Plz Help
Be sure the AUTO_SAVE option in DTW\preferences\preferences.txt file is FALSE. It's a known issue with BI corruption savegames.
EDIT: my preferences file has AUTO_SAVE:TRUE even with a BI installation. There must be a problem in the installation script not turning it to FALSE for BI players.Besure to turn it to FALSE, or you will continue to have these savegames corruption.

Re: Plz Help
I think the reason of these crashes are over-complex traits that get corrupt when saved into a save-game. Probably some sort of hard-coded limit that was removed in ALX.
The best solution would be to completely re-make the traits base. Even then I'm not sure if it will work. Cleaning up all traits isn't that hard though. Just comment out all campaign references and replace the files with empty ones. I don't think there are any traits/ancillaries required for the game to run..

Re: Plz Help
Without any doubt it's more complex than merely that option of AUTO_SAVES, but this alone can spare a lot of troubles.

Re: Plz Help
So now you can't even start a campaign? Gee, that's quite odd...

Re: Plz Help
The most important thing is that you finally solved it, but I have Vista, too and I don't have to right click and "run as admin" everytime...have you disabled UAC?
