Does anyone know if the Warpath models can be added to the GC? Are they locked to their faction in the same way the elite units are?

the warpath models are locked and not only the models but also the unit info cards and unit icons.
So are you saying that it is not currently possible to include the models into the GC?
Could the current models be copied and skinned, and included in the GC?
Are you saying the models will be locked to that specific faction if we are able to move them over to GC?
Im having trouble opening up the newer vanilla textures, I wonder if they are locked too.
Man thats stink, CA do the damn info cards right if you are going to lock them!

What?
I know that the icons at least are certainly not locked.
Here's the deal: There are 2 sets of skins included in the Warpath and 1.5. The first set of skins are those that everybody sees when they click Multiplayer Battles and select one of the Native American factions. Those skins are not locked or encrypted, and as everybody can use them in MP, I'd imagine it would be fine to port them over into the GC.
Then the other set of skins are for the DLC-unique units, such as the Petun Wolf Warriors or Mohawk Elite. As for those, I have no idea if they are encrypted or not, but my guess would be that they are, just like in Elite Units of the West and its patch 1.3.
Every day takes figuring out all over again how to live.
I dont know about that, Ive been trying to convert the non-exclusive new "vanilla" native skins and my DDS converter is not letting me convert them. Are they a different kind of file, and more advanced version of DDS I wonder...
...which are encrypted, so far as I know, and cannot be used by non-DLC owners. Nor can their models/textures be used by other units.
This is exactly the same thing that CA did in 1.3 and Elite Units of the West. They released a new set of free models/textures, and a DLC set of models/textures. The only thing different is that this time they didn't advertise the fact.
And yes, I did quote myself, because people seemed to not believe me on this the first time I said it. Imperial Splendour has ported over all the non-DLC-exclusive textures to be used by our mod's Native American units, which are different than Vanilla's, and it works fine.
But, again, you can't use the new special units unless you have the DLC. It'll crash the game if you try giving the model/texture to a different unit, just like Elite Units of the West.

This is truely disappionting. If they were going to lock them all up like this they shoudl have done them right. I havent been a nay sayer before but I am beginning to say....nay. I wonder how it is going to effect the modification and inclusion of thier older, even crappier units.
You can edit the textures, just replace the "common.dll" in the packfilemanager-folder with the "common.dll" from the latest DBEditor, works for me.
Adding them in the campaign is also possible, you need to edit the unit_stats_land-file with the dbeditor and replace the models there with the new models you want, works for me.
Thank you very much for your help, I had already suspended some projects that needed access to certain files in "Patch2.pack" and thanks to you I have great expectations to complete them.![]()
Your'e both welcome, it isn't really me you should thank though, but the person telling people about this in the dbeditor-topic (can't remember who it was).
I'm glad I could help though! good luck!
Ive managed to get Warpath Units into the Grand campaign and recruit able.. Building units allowed and exclusive faction permissions were enough, i purchase Warpath DLC btw so im not sure if that turn of encryption of those files or not.
AS Ft says You can swap models for the vanilla NA fwith tose new ones mentioned or you can just enable the new units for whatever factions/buildings with the above mentioned two tables.
But i gota say DLC makes the whole modding thing alot more complicated.

Hi,
just tried this too, but it worked only for the US units, which i think just reuse not encrypted resources ...
I had no chance of giving the US e.g. the new Huron special units ...
Are you sure the AI uses the new units ?
Regards ...
Try this mod in which I have made the New Indian units playable in campaign ;
