Default Disk not inserted error after antivirus install

I've been playing MTW2 Kingdoms (legitimate DVD purchase) for months (Windows XP with latest SPs installed) until I installed Norton Internet Security (NIS) 2010 and Utilities 2 days ago. Now I get the error message that the disk is not inserted, etc. and for further assistance contact the securecom website. The DVD appears under "My Computer" and is correctly identified as the MTW DVD but double-clicking it results in the same error message. Simply disabling the Norton programs did not solve the problem. Other DVDs and CD run fine with NIS active.

Working with Norton tech support, I uninstalled their program and MTW2 would again run. We tried installing NIS 2009 and the game DVD again would not work. I briefly tried creating firewall security exception under Norton's computer settings for the launch and setup exe files to allow them access to the internet, but that did not work either.

Ideas on how to fix this? Venice is in the midst of a plague outbreak!

Contact SercuROM (www.securom.com) customer service and have them scan your system. Tell them the problem and request an .exe that allows you to run M2 with Norton installed. Good luck!

EDIT: Just to let you know SecuROM is the copy-protection software installed with M2. That's whats screwing you.

I gave up on Norton four years ago. Too overpriced and even then had problems like this. I use Zone Alarm, any more. Contact Securom to see if there is a conflict between Norton and SecuRom.
