    Default AI bonus suggestions!

    I found a simple way to implement *reliable* AI bonus - by creating bonus buildings by script. Anyone want to give some suggestions on what bonus that should be added?

    That's what I can think of right now:
    • All unit experience +2
    • Double tax income
    • Double trade income

    You can add mining and public order as well. Public order bonuses will certainly make the AI much stronger... The other thing is morale bonuses and cutting the cost/build times of the AI factions, which is possible viea building apparently.

    Lower upkeep for units instead of instant training - so they can't spam full stacks of elite units!!!

    Aqd is there a way to make that optional?

    Why dont you increase the morale?

    Can you adress a separate/alternate EDU for AI through that script?
    If you can, that would be a breakthrough in balancing the unit costs for player only, while the AI would get them set by those buildings.

    @Caligula Caesar: so I should add public order and mining income bonus as well But what about rebel? Should it be made impossible for AI factions?

    @MPCU: AI doesn't care about upkeep. The primary factors of unit recruitment are AI personality, unit classes and capabilities/cost. They only spam elite units when the classes/capabilities are wrong (such as seleucid spamming elephants which were marked "heavy cavalry", or 240-men elite phalanx ) But these will be fixed in next version

    @inquisitor: experiences also increase the morale level. Besides, all AI generals have command bonus (+2 to +4). Giving too much morale bonus would render it useless

    @despot_of_rhodes: it's very difficult due to AOR units.

    Armenia was spamming 40% cataphract elite armies... I was thinking more for the purpose of actually limiting AI capability. And that would mean less scripted money and more management bonus.

    Can you show the screen and tell the difficult level? It seems weird and I've never seen that before





    BTW I'll cancel the bonus building because it cannot be destroyed and there seems to be more error-less CTDs

    I think you should test the AI bonuses and see what gameplay effect they all have. For instance, I expect public order bonuses to cause quicker expansion and mega factions appearing

    It's not too different. Public order in my mod is usually not a problem at all. Those bonus were previously implemented in AI general traits; the only difference is that a bonus building is more reliable as it doesn't require any governor, and it could add region-specific bonus.


    I gave it up anyway. It's weird to have a building in the repair queue and it seems to cause CTDs (there are 200 scripted monitors for this feature alone )
