    Default To much $

i am playing roma serrectum on alexander expansion and i am receiving 30k profits per turn with only me holding what is currently italy. I am busting out too much cash and currently have out 400k. Is this suppose to happen? I'm just waiting turns for other nations to build up so it'll be more of a challenge.

it makes the game rather dull and unchallenging.

    Yes and no.
If you start churning out troops and expanding everywhere at once, you will need that money.
But this is a recurrent "problem" with RS1.5 wich will be fix in RS2.
You know, once in a Syracusian campaign, I had over 20 million, and I had 300k profits a turn, but it was in late game and I had about no army at all.

If you take the slow approach, nation build, secure your borders and wait for the AI it will become very dull and your money will be endless. It isn't until you start significantly expanding that money becomes tighter....though not by much.

I've found this to be the biggest turn off of the mod as it makes you nearly invincible. Maybe if I played 0 turn it'd be different, but that would be no fun...

I can't wait till everyone starts to complain about *not* having money in RS 2

that 2x maintenance 3x recruitment (or was it the other way around...I don't know anymore) EDU mod in the sub-mods forum helps...alot...As the Romans I can now barely keep 2 pre-marian armies in the field, while controlling Italy

You won't see me complaining. I'm playing a little MTW II and damn what a balanced game. Even my best empires are struggling with cash I hope the economy plays as strictly as this in RS2.

It's 2x2x costs/upkeep and it does help solve such cash issues. Beware though, as the AI has a much smaller limit of units, sometimes it overproduces navies and is stuck without a proper army. Which of course isn't fun at all. Doesn't happen often, though. Overall good submod, you should try it.

Could be, but I believe I also play on Hard. Maybe it was just the AI being werid as Macedon (they were the ones with tons of navies).

play europa barborum, or IBFD as the western roman empire, and you will like it if you enjoy a tough economy.
"WE WILL SMITE THE INVADERS FROM OUR SKIES! Though they sweep over our lands like the sands of winter, never again will we bow before them; never again endure their oppression; never again endure their tyranny. We will strike without warning and without mercy, fighting as one hand, one heart, one soul. We will shatter their dreams and haunt their nightmares, drenching our ancestors' graves with their blood. And as our last breath tears at their lungs; as we rise again from the ruins of our cities...they will know: Helghan belongs to the Helghast." -Scholar Visari

I play, or have played pretty much every mod here, and most of them are balanced, if not all of them.

    @Octavius-Augustus

Yeah, that happens in my game too sometimes, don't know why, but the AI just starts spamming navies now and then.

Never too much money! Even if I have 50 million... I need 50 more.

1.6 fixed this by alot for Rome. I went from 30k easy per turn to just managing 10. Makes it much more fun to start.

Yes, if you play as Rome.
I played the Iberian recently and was in the RED for the first few turns, and even later I could hardly build enough troops to cover a two front war. Play another faction and you may see the difference.

Rome is filthy rich, I actually have to give away huge amounts of money to my allies to prevent corrupt character traits. And like the TC said that's only Italy.
