    Well, I've started two campaigns now, 20 turns late Novgorod & 29 turns early ERE, both on vh/vh and there are some problems. My generals, even with extra movement traits, move less then other calvery units on the campaign map. I think some foot units are moving just as far as the generals.

    The Savage said in his CAI thread that naval blockades as a declaration of war was back in his CAI. But it seems worse than in the previous RR/rc. Poland keeps doing one-turn blockades against Novgorod with no armies anywhere in sight. And as the ERE, the Fatamids, the HRE, and the Turks all started wars that way. Of course, all fleets were quickly sunk especially the mercenery galley the Turks used to blockade Constatinople . Yeah that was the Turks' entire offense unless you count them losing Ankara to a revolt the next turn. Iconium & Sinop were barely garrisoned. And they don't have 10 units within two turns of Ceaserea.

    The AI agression level is down or autoresolve is now set too heavily if favor of the defender. There are still 30 rebel provinces on turn 29 of the ERE campaign. Including all Ireland, 4 in Iberia, Bern, MIlan, ANcona, Bari, Adana, Acre, Dijon & 3 others in France. Some cities/castles have almost full stacks and others have their garrisons out & about in the countryside

    I've gotten the "Bent on Glory" trait at least twice on generals just sitting in their govenors' office.
    And merchants have gotten the "survived an aquisition" attempt out of nowhere.

    Haven't applied the lastest hotfix (either yesterday's or tomorrow's) yet. Just using the 10/04 files on a fresh install of 6.1

    Does anyone know how to change the game's music? I like the northern_european soundtracks a lot more than the southern_european one, so I modified the descr_sounds_music file by copying over all the northern european soundtracks and overwriting the southern european ones. I started up the game, and there was no change. So I went through and did a more complete job, unpacking the music.idx into the sounds/music file, then deleting the music.idx, music.dat, events.idx, and events.dat. The game's music was then modded: the correct music played, but all other sounds were missing. (I.E., speech was completely gone, the various "ambient" sounds were gone, etc.) I really have no idea what to do. I've followed the guides I could find...but....

    Does anybody know what I did wrong?

    Up to T60 (applied latest hotfix over existing install - seems to work fine.)

    Immediately the hotfix applied Scotland moved - yup it joined 3 small armies into one big one.
    Not that they went anywhere for the next 30 turns except into Edinburgh and out again.

    still their towns are getting bigger and they've upgraded port and walls so they have money.

    Both norway and denmark gave up on evicting me from Eikundersund and asked for ceasefire (and i gave them trade into the bargain.)

    Jihad has taken jerusalem and Acre, crusade scores cairo.

    Ireland really is a joke - Cork had a garrison of 1 unit, galway was totally empty.
    I got 5000 fl in rewards for taking them!

    Does the cracked version of kingdoms disable the console?
    (or have I forgotten where it is on the keyboard?)
    might be an idea not to distribute cracked versions of game engine anyway.

    L-C keep landing an army outside exeter and then getting back on the boat.

    Rebels def need bigger garrisons and more money.

    Are not installed by vanilla or by my mod. They are installed by SS6.1. Did you install SS6.1 before this mod?

    Played again with oct8 hotfix on H/H as GB. 30 turns.

    AI a bit more aggressive - Norway and Denmark DoW and blockaded ports.
    Discovered that cogs are rubbish at sea fighting compared to longships and pirate ships.

    (cogs had a higher freeboard so should be superior to longships in battle. ALso
    Being sailing ships they could devote more manpower to fighting than oared ships.)


    ANyways took Eiskunderund from Norway and held off 2 determined attacks by Norway and Denmark.
    Just hoping my ship with the re-inforcements can get there w/out being sunk!

    Scotland is asleep. Made alliance on turn 1. Sent spy up to just outside Edinburgh.
    For the next 30 turns:
    None of the Scottish armies moved, not a ship was built, only had a spy looking at my spy and a diplomat trying to bribe York.
    I can't see they've recruited anyone either.
    I've got plenty to do for now without going up there and poking them with a pointed stick.
    But they could easily attack Bruges or Antwerp or Ireland.

    France once again seems incapable of putting together an attack on the channel ports.

    I think I need an AI that is more aggressive without backstabbing.
    Suggestions?

    I trust the main files will be stable for a while I think I'm practically at my monthly limit for downloads.
    I haven't changed the heavy swords to mailed knights yet, but I will.

    I suggest Byg AI, or I could re-upload Gracul's AI, that was very aggressive and backstabbing TheSavage's AI generally isn't.

    Well, considering that to uninstall, you have to also cut off your own arm, imagine what you have to cut off if you deliberately miss a hotfix.

    A lot of this stuff implies a change of AI, which there hasn't been. And autoresolve has not changed how the attacker/defender ratio is calculated, only the weighting given to certain units, so yes if the defender has more missile units now, they will be stronger in autoresolve.

    I'll look into the cavalry/general movement thing.

    Byg may be able to help with the 'Bent on Glory' thing.

So I went through and did a more complete job, unpacking the music.idx into the sounds/music file, then deleting the music.idx, music.dat, events.idx, and events.dat. The game's music was then modded: the correct music played, but all other sounds were missing. (I.E., speech was completely gone, the various "ambient" sounds were gone, etc.) I really have no idea what to do. I've followed the guides I could find...but....

    Does anybody know what I did wrong?
    You did everything fine. Just wait for the full file upload. It was almost done last night then my connection went down, so am trying again, though it will take 6+ hours.

    I think no need for any cracked versions now we have identified what was causing the startup CTD.

    As I said I'll boost startup garrisons. Might have some time today to do more on garrison script.

    Generally people if you are finding SavageAI unsatisfactory:
    copy the contents of the TATW/Data_AI_Byg folder to the TATW/Data folder and give his AI a try.

    But all this stuff about the AI not garrisoning settlements etc, no M2TW mod in existence has fixed it without additional garrison scripting.

    In regards the game's music, I have a different request. Is there any way to keep the same music playing after hitting the "end turn" button? Sometimes I am hesitant to end a turn cause I like the music and I know I'm gonna get the stupid "computer takes its turn" music.

    I think so, but I make so many updates that giving me any 2 and asking if they are cmpatible is a bit of a gamble

    Pancho_Villa: You could try installing directly over the top of your current files, it would probably be OK. If you have problems, reinstall SS6.1 then this mod. I am always releasing hotfixes anyway.

    morning all.. @ point blank.. ive recently downloaded ss6.2 and been playing without any mods, and cavalery have been a right pain... they are unstoppable tanks that kill everyone instantly.. a full unit kills spearmen, (no match) but even 10 cavaleryman seem to wipe out 120 archers, which just does not seem right.. ive spent the whole night downloading your mod, in the hope it fixes this problem?? but iam a bit confused, as i have 6.2 installed already, can i just install your mod straight over this or should i remove ss completely and re-install to 6.1 then install your mod?? cheers for any help..

    Are not installed by vanilla or by my mod. They are installed by SS6.1. Did you install SS6.1 before this mod?

    yes i installed ss 6.1 and the file the you gave me was already in the data off SS6.1 dont know why it can not find it when i toggle_fow the crash comes with the turn off the rebels thanks anyway maybe its one off the hotfix that crash mine game started a new game with the cumans this time but it looks like they got now islamic voices?
