Default Starting the Dunedain as a horde

I've been thinking about the quite unloreworthy faction of Eriador. Would it be possible and/or good to have Eriador or maybe the Dunedain start out as a horde army like the huns with armies across Eriador? This would stop the problem of effectively having Arnor as a fully-functional start-up faction.
"The Moving Finger Writes and having writ moves on nor all thy piety nor wit can lure it back to cancel even half a line nor all thy tears wash out a single word" (Omar Khayyam).

I think that probably my greatest achievement was introducing Ozymandias to these boards.

This would be quite bad because
    1. The Dunedain were not many in numbers. Surely not enough to represent a horde
    2. Maybe they don't take the settlements at the beginning and just walk around
    3. Eriador is going to be rewirked and will have many new features.

Not gonna happen. Dunedain units for Eriador will be few and far between, no too sure what you mean by "Arnor start up faction". They will no longer be the bodyguards for the faction either. Eriador is now planned as a Bree-centric faction with aor style recruitment. Dunedain recruitment will be limited, my opinion just as limited as Ents, but probably in the end not quite as restricted.

eriador is not a kingdom is a desert region, not important cities and peoples here.
i like the limits units recruitment is realistic with this abandon region.

Seeing as in the style of Total war games you can change the direction of any faction/ country..

I was wondering if playing as Eriador that you can make it powerful once again and they won't be so few in numbers.
Because I like the whole idea of dunedain soldiers

Is is possible to implement a 'period' system. So you would have 'late' period units and 'early' period units?

Something is being fleshed out. Unlikely for the first release of the reworked Eriador. But in the future I have plans that will allow an Eriador player to progress towards something more substantial.

You rebuild cities so people move in.

Refugees from the south. The men of Bree were very concernded that there were much too many of them, and when Rohan falls (like it does in almost every camaign) there will be many more of them..

It would be nice to have late game units that represent either the RK or a 'reborn' Arnor. What if Aragorn didn't happen to fall in love with Arwen and instead chose to refound Arnor? I'm sure some lore people will shoot me down, but rebuilding Arnor would be fun and give the Eriador player something to do besides fight Isengard, rebels, orcs, and maybe dwarves/elves if the alliances break down that much.

You might want to take a look at the new Eriador progress thread...

People sure have some strange and impossible ideas.

Eriador will be fine when DG has completed his work, see, he got some very interesting ideas for the faction, I think we will be looking at something unique upon completion, patience is key.
