Quick PC specs question

Hi, RTW player here. When I played the M2TW demo, the battle crawled. Almost unplayable.

My specs then were:
2ghz Athlon 3200
512mb RAM
Dual 128mb GeForce 6600s in SLI

It's now been a year or two and, in the interim, I've downloaded the new drivers for my video cards that improve the SLI effectiveness and also acquired 2gb more RAM (and it's faster RAM, too).

Do you think I could run M2TW better now, or is my machine hopelessly underpowered?

I remember that spec - it worked for far longer than it should have. With the RAM upgrade you have a chance. The dual 6600 are old (as I'm sure you know) but they might still be enough as they were released around that time - I'll have to lean on irishron to confirm or deny this. He has more recent experience than I. In any case I'd say you're looking towards the low end of the graphics scale....

Are you still running XP? If so then the 2GB of RAM should be enough. Vista will be a real killer though....

If you still have XP you have a chance at combination low/medium settings for campaign. Trying to use two cards for one good one in battles low settings, nothing fancy.
If you went Vista, in battle you already lost. Even with 2gig ram, it will lag you to your next life. Those cards even in sli are a bottleneck.

Yes, I still have XP. No way I'd try to run Vista on this machine.

Ok, I may give it a try, then. If it doesn't work well I might just save up for awhile and get a new video card.
