I would think unit sizes might be too large and unwieldy for a city battle but hey if we had mod tools we could try.

Most of the screens posted above are re creatable in the current version of ETW.When I see video footage that has a little title saying `Ingame footage`, I expect it to be in the game WHEN I buy it, not maybe 6 months down the line, if ever after, I have purchased it.

What mods are you seeing in those screenshots?
Your answer will probably be about the smoke, but that level of smoke/fog is easily seen in large scale battles even in vanilla.
Yes it sucks that features got cut but that's the nature of the gaming industry, every game out there does it. You won't see me complaining when Starcraft 2 comes out that their first videos introduced units that aren't even in the game at all anymore.
I'm not arguing about whether or not asking for change is important or not, I don't doubt for a second it is, but the way that people tend to complain around here is rather......annoying (putting it politely). Arguing about features that were cut is pretty moot, yes it's disappointing for some (personally I can't stand them due to the break in the unit cohesion that's very important in this TW title) that large city battles were cut and that we can't see land from the ocean.
However we just have to hope that CA include these features in their next title and bring in other great new additions to the series.
Correct, Blizzard won't do that, but then again when did CA specifically state that features we saw in trailers that were released 6-7 months prior to release were set in concrete release date features?in starcraft two they won't intentionally mislead you into believeing that units you saw in initial videos are still in the game as a selling point. there is a difference.
I have fought in a few lovley-looking towns in Spain and Central Europe (never fought in France...yet....), the pathfinding worked within the perameters of things I would want to do anyway (I.E. It'll let me line 'em up, but not in stupid ways that I wouldn't ever use anyway)
They were very nice to look at, belivable as communities, exciting as battles.
The problem I find is the eastern/Russian/Indian towns are very very ugly, as they try to set them out as they would European towns, and everything's brown and oddly-shaped.
Fight in Europe, s'all I can say, though we shouldn't really have to
It makes me wonder if some people here actually follow any other games other than Total War sometimes. Games change over development time and time again. Stalker, for example transformed completely some 2-3 times before we got the game that was released. And that includes lost features.
