    Icon4 Nooo! New error!

I uninstalled my game then reinstalled it. I saved my SS 6.1 because it takes about 5-7 h to download it. Now I moved my SS to M2TW/mods directory, and it works fine... until I try to start a Custom Battle or continue/start campaign.

    In Custom Battles:
    • The number of men in that unit is replaced with a white box
    • The black arrows in the unit card has the same bug, as well as bow/sword when the unit is shooting/in combat
    • Faction shield isn't shown (that white box...) in unit info which appears when I take the mouse on a unit
    • Under that faction shield coating white box there's a little small box - however, I don't remember what should be "under" it
    Campaigns:
    • The computer loads the campaign, then... it's a CTD. Here's my system log:
    20:15:24.682 [system.rpt] [always] CPU: SSE2
    20:15:24.682 [system.rpt] [always] ==== system log start, build date: Aug 3 2007 version bld-medieval2-kingdoms-104 (45562) ===

    20:15:29.292 [data.missing] [error] mods/Stainless_Steel_6/data/ui/strategy.sdfile not found

I want to know is there any other solution than download the mod again?
I must be crazy... I didn't remember that I have a copy of SS already. But still I want to know is there any solutions and reasons for this?

EDIT: I can't post a screenshot, because when I take and save it, there is only black... I can't understand the reason.

Go to game options and turn Anti-Aliasing off, then try again.

Also apply the 1.5 patch for Kingdoms - you're still running off of the original 1.4. This might correct a few problems for you.

I must be the stupidest guy in the world - I had deleted my SS copy. I try a Custom Battle now and post the answer after several minutes.

EDIT: It didn't work. And I can't take any screenshots of SS; they're all completely black.
    Please help.

    May that affect mods?

EDIT2: My SS 6.1 worked fine before I un- and reinstalled the game. Now I'm downloading patch 1.5. But do I have to manually replace the old files with these new ones?
I saved the patch folder to my M2TW directory.

SS 6.1 needs 1.5 according to their readme.

Weird... Until this day I've played it without that patch.
Anyways, I hope that I can play SS tomorrow.

    No one can help?
How do I unpack that patch (it's RAR file) or do I have to unpack it at all?
I can post a screenshot of Custom Battle when I get home.

I didn't see that you edited your post - that's the danger sometimes....

If it's a WinRAR file then you need to extract it to a folder and run the Setup - the Installer should do the rest. Let us know if you have problems. Good luck!

Here's a screenshot about the problem. I just installed WinRAR and try if I can use it and unpack the patch...
EDIT: does it matter that I have only Britannias installed? Posted a screenshot about that too.
EDIT2: Wtf is this? I can't start my SS. For some reason Vanilla works fine. 3rd screenshot added.
EDIT3: Britannia doesn't work too. And I have Gold Edition disc 1 inserted... perhaps I downloaded wrong patch? I followed the link which I found somewhere here and downloaded it from www.gamershell.com.
Please help. I must be a noob.

You seem to be a magnet for trouble these days.

Your first screenshot has a menu graphic missing - is it SS? If so then you might have not gotten all of the files installed. I have zero experience with SS so I'll let someone else help you there....

Your second screenshot is expected and normal - since you didn't install all of the Kingdoms campaigns this warning pops up to tell you that the Installer couldn't update the missing campaigns. Nothing to worry about.

The last screenshot is the most troubling - you're getting a copy-protection error from the game. This could mean that you have some software on your system that is triggering this message. What other games do you have on this system? Do you have any software that can make a disc image or copy CDs/DVDs?

    Let us know.

These are nearly the only programs I have. Check it.
Of course there are several ones that aren't shown in this list.
And my SS - it should work as it's a copy of SS that worked for me earlier. And I think that it shouldn't miss any files.
I can't reply during the weekend I think as we go to our cottage with no computer there. Unless I do it with my mobile phone.

Nero is one of the programs wich causes problems with copy protection. Uninstall it and run registry cleaner. Also any EA game with SecuRom can also be the problem.

Now we are finally getting somewhere.

If you want all your goodies including Nero, contact www.securom.com, have them run a scan of your harddrive, and request the appropriate medieval2.exe and kingdoms.exe. Until you do, you will have problems with this game.

FinnKing - irishron's advice is the best so far. You have a number of programs that might interfere with the copy-protection on M2. EA uses SecuROM and you have two games on your system from them. Try using his advice and let us know what happens. Good luck!

So I have invalid CD. Or, to say it better, my friend has as I've borrowed the game from him.
But my older brother said that a crack can fix this, so I'm going to try it
I didn't find any mention about speaking cracks in the forum rules so I'm sorry if this is against any rule.

Cracks are against the rules. That is SecuRom's polite way of saying the disc you borrowed is bad. My advice is give the disc back to your buddy, go buy the real thing like the rest of us, and then you can enjoy playing. With Securom's message, we can no loger help you here. I will now close. Any further discussion, pm me.
