Reinforces in battle

I have a big problem during battles I play.
Before I begin the battle, it shows, let's say I am confronting a carthaginian army and they have another full army of reinforcements right beside me, so that I cannot move away from battle. Now whatever the odds are, enemy (or my) reinforcements never come into battle, si I basically destroy the enemy army and win the battle with ease.
How can I get it back to normal??

Open the preferences.txt file and find a line: UNLIMITED_MEN_ON_BATTLEFIELD:FALSE and change the value to TRUE

Just be prepared for a hit to performance if there are a lot of soldiers on the battlefield.
