Why are witches so rare?

I came across maybe two, one in Vanilla in Italy, that gave the pope gas and one in Teutonic near Krakow.

Why are they so rare? Can I edit a file somewhere to spawn more.

Rare!? Those darn things are all over the place in my campaigns! It's insane!

However, they did allow me to have 13 Cardinals in the college of Cardinals

yes you can edit that! I forget the exact file but ask in the mod workshop/miscellaneous an way here is my reasoningto many young witchs lurew young knights who then inpregnate them after this the witchs go deep into the woods to raise thier children in sereniy?!lo!

Not only witches are rare but moreover you most of the time have like 95% tu burn them...
Heretics are much more of a calamity for me...

Cardinals have a 95% chance of killing em in my campaign, priests 33% - 66%. With heretics 11% - X%. Bishops have a slightly higher chance of killing both.

I'v had some campaigns with tons of witches, and others with none at all.

I find that i get most of my witches in the Iberian Peninsula. Other than in that region, I generally only get heretics. I'll get the odd witch here and there but mostly heretics (except in the Iberian Peninsula, where I get about 4 witches for every 1 heretic).

Same here, I only ever get witches in Iberia(everywhere else its ethier heretics or the very rare occasional witch)

I've seen about 2 witches, and I've started a campaign for each faction (most ended around Mongols or never even got off, but still...)

there are a couple of values in the descr_camapaign.xml file. play with those but if you find europe converting to paganism your on your own.

They also appear in Caernarvon for me... But yeah, I see them quite a bit in a few places, but for most of the map, I only see heretics.

England seems to have some difficulties with a local witch invasion near Notthingham... lol

Oh and another one gave my king warts. Curses. Next day we had a BBQ...
