    Icon5 faction destroyed crash???

    I have a faction that appears to cause a crash during the ai turn...During the ai turn, Egypt destroys the last Kingdom of Jerusalem fortress. It's at this point that the crash occurs.

    I've tried to to recreate the crash by playing a campaign with a neighboring faction of the KOJ and once I destroy them I get the standard faction destroyed screen...All is well.

    Does anyone have any ideas for what might be the issue?

    It's not a CTD sticky topic...

    Just a little more info...During the mentioned AI turn, You hear the sound of the KOJ general dying and you see the Egyptian army take the castle, and that's when the crash happens.

    It might have to do with the destruction of religious buildings.
    Any hint in the error log?

    I've seen this often in many mods:

    To all, why am I seeing this? Does it only ever get produced when the game crashes? Does it highlight the cause of an issue?

    These are references to screenshots! Why would that be?
    Check the tga folder (have you got that many screenshots in there?) and maybe compress your log and attach it here for a closer look.

    I wondered why those we're there...I took a screenie of the game just before it crashed...and yes there are that many pics in the tga folder...I'll try and see if I can compress it like you said however I don't think I know how???Let's see.

    The log goes on about this event: jerusalem_king_event.tga
    Have a look if the corresponding text entry is available in data\text\historic_events.txt, eg
    {JERUSALEM_KING_EVENT_TITLE} AND {JERUSALEM_KING_EVENT_BODY}

    That looks good I'll have to take a look at that...I've been looking in the camp_script to no avail...I never would've looked in the text folder. thx and +rep. I'll post back results.

    Thus far I've looked into historical text and found the reference for Jerusalem King, and all was fine there...I double checked the campain scipt at the very end where the king dies monitor is and that looked fine...So now I'm wondering if it has something to do with the faction that comes after the Egyptians in the ai turn selection?? That would be the Danish as you can see in the previous pics. i'll post the script and historic_events txt referenced above...

    The crash could be caused by the Egyptian general's destruction of Jerusalem activating a trigger from a trait but because the trait is spelled wrongly they cannot get this trait and the mod crashes. Check the error log to see if it makes reference to any traits before the mod crashes.

    The problem could also be that in the Egyptians have achieved their victory conditions but the 'data/text/expanded.txt' doesn't contain the line saying that they have achieved their victory conditions.

    The best way to find out is to play as Egypt and crush the KOJ.

    More good ideas...I'll try these methods the first chance I get and post back the results. I did try crushing them with the turks and in what was kind of like a tag team with the egyptians. The game never crashed so I'll try it with the egyptians like you said...The trait thing might be the issue...+Rep thanks I'll also look closer at the crash log for the Egyptian traits, I think one might have fired "wrongly" when one of the Egyptian generals took out a crusading HRE army just before the crash...That instance should be in the log above...
