Default Will You Buy Barbarian Invasion?

Now that we've had some screenshots, some FAQ's and some previews on new units, I think lots of people are slowly deciding if they'll get the BI expansion or not. There is already a thread on the subject, but I thought that a poll would be quite interesting. Did Rome disappoint you so much that you won't get the expansion? Will you buy BI if the community reviews are good? Or are expansions simply not your thing?

My personal opinion: I'll wait a bit. I'll play the demo, read some press reviews, look at some videos, then finally (and most importantly) see what the Total War community has to say. If the general opinion of the expansion is good, like it was for VI, I'll almost certainly get it.

    I voted maybe

At first, at the beginning of the whole ordeal, I was ready to storm the bastille, but after reading some of the FAQs about some of the new game dynamics, (revolts, generals being able to challenge the king, the new migration system, and the time period) the more I think about it, the more I think that I will like it. Also, there will be mods out to get rid of the things I am not interested in (fantasy units, steamrolling, aesthetics)

So I think I will most likely buy it, unless community feedback sways me otherwise.

It seems that developers (...just in general, don't want to point out particulerly...) tend to save some money on playtesting - so many games were published without proper quality. Lastest and greatest is The Fall: Last days of Gaia... and I can continue the list so long. Very sad about this but I don't want to be a playtester. I just want to enjoy what I paid for. So I will wait until it will become clear that the game is successful.

BTW: Great respect to all fans and all who will buy the game first! No black humor, but seriously, the situation in gaming industry is such that first gamers are considered as free playtesters. So, thanks to them.

No. Rome was a huge let-down for me. So unless it's utterly mind-blowing. No.

I always wonder, when people say stuff like this, why they're still on these forums a year later.

Anyway, i'm in. Actually, having seen some of the screenshots and reading the AARs, it looks like the AI is improved. That's the one thing with which i was concerned. Night battles, different formations, pfft; all the rest of that crap you could set on fire, but improved AI is an instant buy on my part.

Only ff the modding capabilities are enlarged a lot so the community can improve their mods, I'll definately buy it. Man, I would kill for a SDK, but somehow it's not going to happen.

Nothing is more certain. I will, of course, buy it. I can't wait to see what the modding community will come up with a couple of months post release.

I'm going to wait for some reactions first.
It will probably be a few weeks between US and European release anyways.

I will buy it just if for nothing more than the additional units in it.
I will be giving CA the benefit of the doubt, but will not be suprised if we get the shaft once again with a add-on with lots of problems as with the patches.

When The save/load bug is addressed then I will consider spending more money on CA products. If this 1.3 patch is coming after BI I will wait for the patch and then possibly buy BI. If the above mentioned bug is only fixed in BI, then they can kiss my dollars goodbye........unless..um... it's a huge upgrade and this community endorses it. (I guess I'm not sure what I'll do. )
