Default RTW Problems- Can anyone help?

    Ok, so here's the deal.

I wasn't able to play RTW, as whenever I clicked on it, an evil pop-up came up saying 'failed to initialise 3d audio'. So, I thought I may aswell uninstall it and then install it once more; and see if that made any difference. But the problem lies therin. When disc 2 is happily installing away, error messages suddenly come up, the first of these being 'Error 1309. Error reading from file:\setup\data\data\editor\brush_hard_21.tga. Verify that the file exists and that you can access it.' If I choose to ignore this, more problems in the same strain appear, and so installation cannot be completed properly, because eventually I will only have the options to retry or abort, and only abort works! My D drive is my second RTW CD. I borrowed a friend's RTW disc, and it still doesn't work with that one either! Why does this problem occur? Thanks in advance to anyone who can help!

i cant say i know the problem, but i can say ive had a similiar problem, and with me it was sdsone.cab file, and it just was my disk was messed up, so i had to "work" my way around it if you know what i mean, and since i paid full price and still had to "Work" my wa around it, what i did wasnt messed up it should be considered a fair trade considering i paid the $50 for the damn game which disk 1 didnt even work, so i suggest exchanging the game disk if you can, if not find a way to "work" around the problem

I've posted the possible causes to an "Error 1309" in a previous thread. Do a Search.

Or just copy all the files to a folder on your hard drive and install that way.

The problem seems to be with mounting all three CDs at once, the installer looks for a file that is actually on another CD. Mount only the first CD, install until you get the same error or ask for the next CD, mount the next CD and press ok or retry or whatever and it should work.
