Tax Rates In SS 6.1
Now i play as byzantium on H/H in SS 6.1.
Im having a problem with taxes. The thing is i donīt want to micromanage the taxes in every settlement every turn. So in Vanilla i just let the AI manage them when i donīt need growth.
Normally the AI would always raise the taxes as high as possible without creating disorder (70 -80% order, at their lowest). However in stainless steel it seems it always set the taxes to very high in my cities, so it causes civil disorder, where it would otherwise just lower the taxes to high to get them under control.
This doesnīt seem to be the case in SS 6.1 with byzantium in the game im playing.
1: How can i fix this or what have i done wrong?
2: Do i really have to manage taxes manually each turn in every settlement increasing micromanaging even more?
Any help would be appreciated and repped where possible ofcourse
.

Re: Tax Rates In SS 6.1
Adjust the tax rate to "low" and there it is...
1. Manage every settlement yourself.
2. No, you just look that everything's OK in your cities and if not, then you may have to check the tax rate. I usually keep on low or high, never on very high or normal (unless there's a special reason why I adjust it to normal).
Hope it helped. There's no such kind of "micromanaging" even if you check the taxes yourself. I think about the tax rates very rarely, almost never. However, it's a very important thing.

Re: Tax Rates In SS 6.1
After you turn auto-manage on set the taxes how you wish. The AI should not change them , at least they dont in my game. The only thing AI controll is building and recruiting i dont think they change tax rates.
For cities i ussualy put 3 happyness or law buildings into the build que then turn on Auto-manage and then set the taxes to financial. After your initial chosen buildings have been built (increasing happyness , law) the AI will take over and start randomly building. Just make sure you que happyness/grow/income buildings before you set auto-manage or the AI will build catapult makers and armories which do not benefit you.
If the city lacks population i auto que farms , churchs and put the set auto-manage to growth and charge it to financial later once population and happyness has improved.
