First I want to thank everyone who played a part in producing this Mod. It so far has a "feel" that makes me expect to be playing it for months to come.
My first game is as Venice, early period. It took me a few fitful starts, reading the forum alot, and some sleepless nights, but I finally got past the first 15 turns without going hopelessly bankrupt. I made some assumptions about the way the Garrison script works, and it seemed to work out for me. Now I want to confirm that I really was correct.
Is it the case that only the player attacking a city causes the garrison script to operate, that if an AI controlled faction attacks, it does not activate? I believed that to be the case and therefore used units I could not afford to support to attack every rebel city I could reach. My thinking was that I wanted to make it harder for other factions to take those rebel cities while I am building my infrastructure. A better way to dispose of the units than to retire them. So my first real question is, was I right? And if so, does the script activate only once? If another faction now attacks a rebel town, loses, but depletes the rebel garrison, will the script activate again when I attack a second time?
My second question has to do with Market Rights. As my cities grow, will they be able to obtain Market Rights? Playing Venice, I intend to concentrate on trade, merchants, and navies. What I have seen on this issue so far in the forum suggests to me that only some cities will be able to build Markets. A little more information will hellp me plan my development.
Thanks in advance for a response, and again for all the hard work that went into making this Mod.
