ok this is getting bizzare, as usual, i want to avoid more off-topic crap just so to clarify this. Was the entity created by alexander's conquest AN EMPIRE?

So before the concept of citizenship, there were no empires?

    That's new.

Analysis should not be diverted by reflections upon the zeal with which the victors at the end of the Second World War punished the defeated for war crimes. The victors were animated by the ideals of the Atlantic Charter and of the United Nations. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights was about to peep over the eastern horizon. But first, they wanted a little hanging.

IMO it counts as an empire, even though it didnt subject every tribe within its borders. Instead Client states secured part of its borders. Alexander was also a sort of cult personality, with the rate the empire was created Alexanders generals were given governorship of their own regions and in a way gave them a king feeling that they didnt want to give up. I beleive even if Alexander passed on his crown before he died his generals still would have destroyed the empire with their greed. Ptolemy ruled Egypt as a pharaoh.

Nah, it was a democratic constitutional monarchy with a little influence of socialism and plutocracy.

Alexander's empire was neither democratic nor constitutional.

This is more about a single poster than about an actual historical topic... and since the former isn't allowed, I'm going to have to close this.
