    Default CHEVAUCHEE

    Hi

Has anyone modded anything to represent the chevauchee? This term refers to a pillage and burn style of warfare where forces hiding inside their castle would be avoided by the attacking army who would instead go around the land looting and destroying, both to gain wealth, weaken the enemy and possibly draw them out into a fight.

Possibly the money lost to a faction through devastation would be gained by the opposing faction?

Just wondered if anyone had done anything to represent this better in their games?

EDIT; - Would represent other types of raiding also such as viking style raids where the aim was to take money & slaves etc, not capture the settlement

    Thanks

Devastation causes losses to a faction. Don't think you can script that as a gain for the 'attacker'.

It might work via 'turns in region' plus 'region is not mine' and a fixed amount. Or based on settlement level?

EB has this feature for the Sweboz: It gives a fixed sum of money when a general devastes a tile; this is not tied to the sum acutally lost by the owning faction of course.

But would devestation cause a gain? I was under the impression that devestation was farm-related, as in the devestation and desolation of common farms and large manors for the purpose of feeding an army on the field.

Hi, I've found what I was looking for in Broken Crescent 2.0. http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=301742
Requires one entry in campaign_script.txt for each faction. Faction recieves fixed sum of money on first turn it enters territory
Allows attacking army to sustain itself to some degree if it can keep moving and raiding new territory as it goes.
