    Default Migration campaign questions

    Hi everyone

So I started a migration campaign recently using RTW Platinum. I started as Parthia and immediately shipped most of my family and some horse archers to the Rebel region East of Germania and took 3 cities in that region. I am now trying to figure out how best to wrap it up. I still have my two settlements in the East and they are regularly harrased by Bactria and the Seluecids.

Question 1: In Germania I have a huge cultural penalty. Will this lessen over time as growth happens under my rule? The towns in that area are tiny so I am trying to figure out if I can somehow enslave my home cities populations and bring them over to assist with both the penalty and growth.

Question 2: How can one give away one's cities? I tried to give my home cities to a few factions with all my troops outside in the hope that I could retake them and enslave them boosting the Germanic cities but the other factions are not interrested. The AI is smart enough to realise that I will just retake it. My other option I guess is to re-set my capital to one of the Western cities and just let the main cities rebel and then retake them? I don't want to let the Seluicids take them as they may enslave or exterminate themselves in the process loosing me all the population anyways.

    Question 3:
Is there a limit to how many times one can change your faction capital? It would be good for me to set Locus Gebidae to be my current capital as its the centre of my new homeland but I would like to be able to reset the capital later after conquering more of Europe as that is very far North.

You could let them rebel. But it'd be a hard fight to win the city back most likely. You could also recruit a load of the cheapest troops available there, bring them to Germany, and disband them. Not sure if that's an option anymore though, given the costs and time involved.

Usually only someone neutral or allied to you will accept such an offer. If you're at war with a faction they probably won't accept it. Letting them rebel is really your best option.

No limit as far as I'm aware.

Thanks. I went with the rebel route and enslaved one city. Problem is that CTD's are regular occurrences when letting cities rebel, or taking those cities. Depending on what buildings are damaged etc the campaign can crash. Through regular saving and re-loading I managed to get past most of the CTD's. My main problem now is that all my new cities are needing the next level government building and I am in negative money. Because of that I decided to exterminate one of my cities that the TSE took from me when I left it empty and after a long and hard battle when I clicked exterminate the game crashed to the desktop. Very very frustrating. Not sure if I am up to continuing that game due to the irritation factor.

Despite how wonderful RTR and RTW I find the instability so bad that the game is almost unplayable. Crashing during an end of turn sequence I can live with as your autosave will take you back to where you where before the crash most times but the constant crashes after a battle is game breaking as re-fighting a battle a few times while you try figure out the issue is too irritating.

An little piece of advise: Allways try to dl and play a mod, where developers are still around and working on it. RTR 6 and RTR PE are quite dated now, and though some of their initial creators are still on the forums and kind enough to answer to the users issues, there are at least two newer mods ( with some submods ), wich took the developement even farther and improved the game a lot, namely:

ExRM - the Extended Realism Mod ( by Quinn Inuit )
    - watch out for submods of CC and others.

Aqd´s RTR mod - requires alex.exe ( as the name implies, the autor is AqD ).
