Something for the RS team
First of all, I would like to congratulate the RS team for their amazing work in this mod. Really guys... you've outdone yourselves with your first release and from what I've read RS 2.0 will be even better than it's predecessor.
Now the thing that comes to my mind (and I'm not criticizing here) are some map "problems" you had in RS 1.5. Sorry if this was mentioned before, but I am relativelly new to your mod and I haven't seen a topic about this before.
The thing that buggs me the most is the location of the statue of Zeus at Olympia on the map, where it is located near Messene. Why is it there, when it should have been located somewhere between Messene and Olympia or closer to Olympia, since we have the city on the map...
The other thing is the location of Ninive, the ancient capital of the Assyrians... to my knowledge it should've been located somewhere in paralel of Antioch or Tarsus (to the east ofc), but not so far to the east as it is in the mod.
And the last thing that comes to my mind is the location of Pasargadae, the ancient capital of Cyrus the Great and one of the four capitals of the Persian empire. On your map, it is located to the south of Persepolis, while to my knowledge, it should be slightly north, or north-west of it.
Anyway, those were the things I wanted to ask you about the map in RS 1.5.
I also want to recommend the addition of some more important cities (imo) for that era: Elis or Sikion (Achaean league against Macedonians or Romans; don't remember correctly), Ecbatana (the winter residence of the Persian kings, one of the capitals and far more important city than Saphia, imo); and something about wonders... in RS 1.5 you made available the construction of some important buildings and wonders of the ancient world, like The Lighthouse of Alexandria etc.
Why don't you do the same for Roman Colisseum? I know it was built later (Emperor Vespasian and his son), but that would add some extra fun to the game imo.
Also, I've seen in some mod (XGM?) that you could decide whether your captured settlement shall become your colony, ally, or military something...
I can't remember correctly. This would seem a reasonable addition to at least Roman campaign, since they had done that throughout their wars.
I must also add that I'm dissapointed at your Imperator Caesar Avgustvs unit... I hoped he could become an emperor
Well that's about it from me
The last thing I wanna add are a couple of questions:
1. The mod starts in 217 BC. When does it end? Will we have a normal year system available along with AUC?
2. What is the size of the map? How much bigger (if it is) from the RS 1.5 one is it?
3. The terrain of the RS 1.5 map is beautiful. Have you made any changes to it? Also will the bigger rivers like Danube and Euphrates and Tigris have river ports?
4. What date is your teams D-day, if I may say so, for the release of this mod? To what date are you aiming for?
5. How much more awesome can your mod be
?
...
If you can't answer some of the questions, that's fine
Well, in expectation of Roma Surrectum 2.0 and Rome Total Realism 7 (those minor settlements look awesome) I think my winter schedule is booked

Re: Something for the RS team
1) There is no end date - the campaign can go on as long as you want
2) About the same size
3) Yes, could do
4) There is no D-Day, although Tone would like that sooner rather than later so he can get some decent sleep (as if)...
5) There is always room for improvement. With the beta some units that were considered 'finished' have been revisited.
It's RTR VII by the way not RTR 7.....

Re: Something for the RS team
Welcome and thanks for the input.
Just a few responses - I'm not sure about all the answers but these things I know:
1) Ecbatana is in RS2
2) Roman Emperors will be in RS2
3) The Colosseum will make an appearance as a buildable building for Rome.
4) The map is about the same size as RS1.5, but goes just a little further east - we've shown some pictures of the textures already in the preview thread - if you have a look at the one called RS2 pictures which has brought most of the preview pictures together you'll see some there, including, I think, a screenshot with Ecbatana in it
