    Icon7 MODING and CHANGING EMPIRE UNIT

    For the first time in the history of Empire totalwar, an Modding tool made by an unknown none CA release made by Chinese Fans is out, i can only tell you the reasults. Check this out.
    if i get my hands on the tools.

    The first ever fully modded Units featuring in the upcoming China mod.

    MODing units is possible. only need to get our acts together and create the program. There is already one out there.

    It's not that old news, and Knight Errant hasn't been exactly marketing his tool.

    You know what, this is the real problem with modding for ETW. Instead of being excited and trying to work together, everyone sits around their own closely guarded fort and shooes away every alternative. No work is being done because people don't want work to be done; as long as it's just retextures, the modders get easy fame and they get an easy cop out (oh, darn that CA for not making mod tools!) when someone points out that they haven't done anything really interesting.

    Instead, when something interesting comes along someone comes up and says, "Oh. That's not special." Worse yet, a certain handful of people like to promote their own damn stuff in other threads when I would have just downloaded their crap in the first place if I thought it was worth it.

    End result? An important tool comes out and no one knows about it or tries to use it for anything productive.

    Final disclaimer: The tiny handful of people using the tool for interesting uses (Ahiga comes to mind, and Danova) are exempt from my quasi-fury.

    ca not providing tools isn't a cop out. the fan made tools aren't optimized and often cannot read or extract vital material for the models. they are great efforts, but accessibility is very limited right now.

    the reason? ca is making damn sure their files are harder to crack this time. otherwise how can they sell dlc units when every modder is out there making new units?

    Hm, actually i think im the first person who made a fully converted unit, although i really dont care.

    The tools are out since quite a while, its not KE fault if "noone" takes the oportunity to create new units or even research the uvw mapping of buildings as the rigidmodelconverter is at least equally important to the meshconverter. Infact the creation of custommade units is definetly possible as i, danova, stef and some others have already proofen before the chinese mod team, yet their work is certainly of high quality.
