Default Tweaking some aspects of SS

While I've been a TW player for a long time (since Shogun) I haven't tried many mods before. Recently I started playing Stainless Steel and I must say that I'm impressed by the amount of quality work and content in there. However, I would like to change a few things if possible. For the record, I'm using SS 6.2 RC4 (the latest version I could find) and I didn't install any of the extra mods when applying 6.1.

First of all, can I somehow turn off the "Supply" system? I simply don't find it fun, and more of an annoyance. It's not that big of a deal, I just don't like it and would like to take it out if possible.

Second, I've noticed that the AI seems to get large amounts of units for free and what I've read on these forums only confirms it. I'm not bat at TW and can generally hold my own and play a competent game, but getting FOUR full stacks of troops thrown at me every other turn from ONE enemy is just unfair. Specifically, my Templars get hammered over and over by the Islamic hordes from the south. I can win battle after battle against overwhelming odds with minimal losses and have nothing to show for it. By the time I consolidate my forces, a new horde is at my door.

Can I reduce the amount of troops/cash the AI keeps getting for free? I understand it's meant to level the playing field, but to me it feels more like stacking all the odds against me. While I'm sure there are many players who enjoy the extra challenge, I would preffer a more "fair" fight...

I'd appreciate any help, especially with the second issue.

When i first started to play ss6.1 i played M/M and this was ok.
So just lower the level of play, the scripts give AI less money/free units when playing in VE/E/M.
If you play either H/VH, then the AI is really boosted in terms of cash/units.

Now i can play in H/H and do even better than before in M/M. FYI, difficulty M/M in ss6.1 is corresponding to H or even VH in vanilla MTW2.

    Just my 2 cents.

Welcome to Stainless Steel. The Best Mod Ever. Let's see if I can help

    1. No, the supply traits are built in & now impossible to remove. This helps the AI by hindering the human player. But it's easy to beat. Send priests/imans ahead to start religous conversions. Build churches/mosques right away. And the best trick-start sieges with 2nd best general or captain then add best general to stack before attacking.

    2. The AI money script is at the top of the Campaign_script file. Ai factions get more money per settlement on harder levels. For instance, England gets 700-900-1400-1900 on the different levels. Egypt gets 600-800-1200-1700. And Egypt has 10? settlements. This file you could mod to lower the money.

or B) install Point Blanks RR/RC 1.3 compilation which lengthens recruiting times which slows the AI down. It also has the better CAI & BAI in it.
or C) you should be on easy or medium for your campaign. As chief beta-tester for 6.2 trust me when I say "very hard" means what it says

Yes you can goto this thread.

    http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...supply&page=59

At the bottom of the page in Post #1180 there is an attached file you can download and place into your SS data folder.

it will remove the Supply trait.

As for the enemy having lots of troops etc. Lower your difficulty setting or lower the ammount of cash.

Keep in mind that SS 6.2 RC4 on Medium/Medium is the equivalent of SS 6.1 on Very Hard/Very Hard. The difficulty has been improved greatly. So try lowering it to M/M or E/M and you should see alot quite a difference.

VH/VH on SS 6.2 the AI have stacks all over the place.
